No gun in the purse.

This should be fun as my DL was also in the wallet.

Add me to the list - just happened this morning. My saddle bags came off of my bicycle. Good thing I only on-body carry.

As a follow up... I assume that I cannot legally carry until I have both replaced? And that I am in technical violation today...

PC §46.15. NONAPPLICABILITY.
(b) Section 46.02 does not apply to a person who:
(6) is carrying a concealed handgun and a valid license issued under Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code, to carry a concealed handgun of the same category as the handgun the person is carrying;
So if you don't have a license, you're committing UCW.
Now, I've been told that the police can look up whether you have a CHL. If you have a photocopy of your DL and CHL and some other ID like a passport, a nice police officer might let you go.
Otherwise, when your trial date comes up, I would expect the judge to let you off.

He can bring charges, but he can't force a judge to rule the way he wants.
I don't know of any of the people who were arrested for car carry who went to trial.
This situation is much like driving without your driver license. It's technically illegal, but most cops will let you off, and AFAIK, judges always do.

Did you keep a copy of your application? The application number is the CHL number.

I sure did, but that isn't with me at work. And I have moved since then. Chances of finding anything post move are much less.
