As long as they are gun free zones they will be the target of choice for those who want the attention in their last hours.

The entire state of Illinois is a gun-free zone. Only LEOs can legally carry weapons.

I hope Gov. Rick Perry is watching this. Texas needs to do something about this quickly or else we be the next state that this will happen.

As reported on MSNBC.com wrote:Northern Illinois University was shut down for a day in December after graffiti were scrawled on a restroom wall warning of a shooting on campus. A spokesman said the warning, which was discovered Dec. 10, made reference to massacre of 33 people last year at Virginia Tech University, but he said it could not be immediately determined whether the threat was related to Thursday’s shootings.
What will it take? Will it take a politician's son or daughter's life in one of the shootings to open their eyes? My blood is boiling. At what point does one say, "I'm not risking my life anymore." At what point does one decide to carry a gun into their university classrooms and risk expulsion (or worse) out of genuine fear? Forgive my lack of words; my emotion is more than I can express in literal terms. I just don't understand...

There comes a time when civil disobedience is the only option to survive in this world.

Oh, I think it will happen here someday. Like most everything else, we have more college campuses that are also "helpless victim zones" than most states. So it's just a matter of time.

But it's more than just campuses. We (CHL's) should be able to carry guns in any place that qualifies as a public accommodation. The only exceptions I would make are for "secure areas" where you have to go through a metal detector to get in. And those places would need to provide facilities for checking and storage of guns.

You guys do understand that the only "logical" outcome from all these killings is a complete gun ban like what Britain did.

The sheep will not ever understand that there are wolves roaming around them - it's like to admit that someone like themselves are capable of doing horrible things, which is totally unthinkable. They will only fault the impersonate object like guns.

1) we are not the Brits.

2) Even with the spate of shootings in recent times, I see no credible effort being made to ban guns. Even Hillary and Obama aren't talking about it, because they know they would have no chance of getting elected if they did.

3) In contrast, there are moves underway in several states to legalize carry by CHL's on college campuses. Some of these measures are likely to succeed. We will need to work this issue one state at a time. Like "shall issue", it will take time, but it's a battle well worth fighting.

And we can point to Utah, where campus carry is legal. So far, there have been zero incidents involving CHL's, and zero shootinngs perpetrated by nut cases like the guy in IL.

And look at the church shooting in CO that was nipped in the bud by a "volunteer security guard" - i.e. a church member who had a CHL.

The truth is on our side. The facts are on our side. And as the saying goes, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free."

All the gun grabbers have to go with are lies and a mass of nonsense.

Over the long run, l like our chances.

As with all of these types of incidents, the nuts immediately start pushing their agenda (gun control). Australia, of all places, seems to be one of the first ones out of the starting blocks.

Greens' Brown urges tougher gun control
Australian Greens leader Bob Brown has called for tougher handgun laws after a university shooting in the US.

Australia needs tougher controls to prevent a massacre-in-waiting, he warned.

He was commenting after five people, including the gunman, were reportedly killed and a total of 17 people were shot at a suburban Chicago university.

Senator Brown said early reports suggested a handgun and a long gun were used.

"I would appeal to this government to look at the very lax handgun laws we have in this country," Senator Brown told reporters in Canberra.

"It is another shooting massacre waiting to happen and we must not allow it in this country.

"We need the same restrictions on handguns, automatic handguns, that the Howard government implemented on long guns after the Port Arthur massacre (in Tasmania) in 1996."

Automatic handguns were effectively machine guns and should be withdrawn from public availability, Senator Brown said.

"I'm calling on the Rudd government to review the laws which allow some hundreds of thousands of such guns to be available in the community here in Australia, they don't need to be."

Senator Brown said some exceptions would apply to those who needed the guns, such as police.

Coupled with a liberal media willing to parrot this drivel to millions of viewers at every turn.

Almost limitless financial backing.

Only 4 million NRA members carrying the other 80 million gun owners on our backs (complacency).

Add in a few rabidly anti-gun politicians in select spots... and its a constant and changing battle.
