Waffle House is Anti-Gun

This is a copy of emails between Waffle House and me.

Ms Murner

Thanks for the info . No members of our organization will be eating at your Restaurants anymore.
You should know we are the good guys we have been checked by the FBI and state.
Trained with fire arms . and less likely to break any law than other citizens.
Your stores have good food and service and will be missed by our members.

Thank you for inquiring about Waffle House's firearm policy. Our policy is no fire arms, guns,
knives or other potentially dangerous weapons of any kind are allowed on Waffle House property
except in the possession of a law enforcement officer or a security guard (in uniform). Anyone else
is asked to leave their weapon locked in their car while dining in the restaurant.

Good point. If not, remain tight-lipped and carry away. Concealed is just that, concealed!

My wife likes waflle house. I personally refer to it as "The Choke and Puke". I despise the place.

Of all of the Waffle Houses I have been in, exactly zero have been posted.

My wife doesn't like them at all, but she also doesn't like even the smell of waffles cooking, so for me to get a waffle fix, it's either Waffle House or IHOP, and IHOP doesn't like to make plain waffles, they want to add blueberrys or some other chozzeraie.

I was on another forum and there was a sign from another state in the parking lot stating no firearms on the property.
You guys may feel fine spending your money with companies that are anti 2A but I would rather not give them any of my money.

I've never seen a Waffle House in TX posted with 30.06 signs, or with any kind of no guns signs.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Remember Waffle Houses are franchised owned. So it may have just been that owner.

:iagree: Although I rarely ever eat at the Awful Waffle, I might want to again sometime in the future.

Also remember that in some other states ANY no-guns sign is valid.

The only sign Waffle House has ever posted is small, yellow and contains 'No firearms' in the text.

It is posted on the exterior brick and only visible from the parking lot.

It is not 30.06 compliant.

If anyone actually wanted to eat at Waffle House, they would not be in violation in Texas.

This is one of those dead horses that was beaten to death on Packing.org years ago.

We could probably go over every state and its laws and find ourselves only being able to stay at home because CCWs are banned in some business, somewhere. I agree, write the letter about that state specifically but do not mention Texas or whatever other state. We should support letter writing and e-mails and phone calls but we need to make sure it is state specific. I have written elected servants and business around the country and specifically mentioned the business in that state or that I would not visit their state until the law was changed. It is good any of us are willing to help but we need to remember that CCW is state specific and that is how we should approach any help we are willing to give. Good job on doing something but, please think about what I posted and continue to support our friends out of state.

I had breakfast at one in Sterlington, Louisiana the other day and I didn't notice any ghostbuster or anti gun sign when I walked in. Then again, the doors were all hanging open as they were mopping the floor early in the morning. I was the only customer at the time.
As late as they stay open (24 hours) I think I would want armed people coming in from travelers like me to truck drivers to policemen to take care of bad people should they come lurking late at night.

Until they ban smoking, I won't be going back to one anyway.
