Had to go to The Federal Bureu of Printing and Engraving to give a quote on some work. As I pulled into the outter parking lot, I noticed the signs stating no weapons allowed (should have thought about this before leaving the office but was in a hurry). Seeing that the did an extensive vehicle search before entering, when I went in to check in I told them I had a CHL and a weapon. I asked if they had a locker to put it in or if I could just leave my truck in the outter parking lot and walk in.

They said no to both and stated I would have to park my truck on the other side of the road off of federal property and walk in from there.

Just wonder why they would'nt let me leave it parked in the lot outside the fence? I do understand not taking it in. Dont like it but understand it.

It would be great if we could get pro-2nd amendment lobbies in Washington and our legislature here in Texas to help extend the umbrella in terms of places that CHL's could carry. Even though I'm still waiting for my CHL, the idea of not being able to carry in certain places because of state or federal laws prohibiting it are indeed hard to swallow. Come to think of it, today is my official 60th processing day. I guess I'll check my status this evening when I get home from work. Afterall, it is my birthday tomorrow and what a gift that would be to see the DPS website say application complete, license issued! :) In-laws are also coming in tomorrow.

The state does not give many B-day presents but if the dates fell right you might get one like I did. My CHL was issued abot 10 days after my B-day. That meant I got nearly a whole year free. Maybe you will too.

Well heck longtooth, you might be right. I just checked the DPS website after getting home this evening and just guess what it said?
"processing application"! Doh! I guess I'll give em a ring on Monday to see if I can find anything out.
