Handgun Policy at Lake Fork?

#1

Post by toaster »

Anyone know the handgun policy at Lake Fork? It's not a Corp of Engineers lake. It's owned by the Sabine River Authority.

I think Lake Fork is a TPW lake, even though the Sabine River Authority controls it http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fi ... akes/fork/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. IANAL, but think you should be good to go with your CHL. :thumbs2:

Actually, after further research I found out I was incorrect. It is NOT a TPW lake, but there are ties to them for the lake.

I can find nothing on the SRA site concerning firearms at all, so unless you run across a big ole' fat 30.06 sign, I would think you would be OK.

Hopefully someone that frequents the lake can chime in.

My cousin guides on that lake, and our retreat property is near there as well...

I haven't seen a restriction that would keep you from having "it" handy, but concealed while on or around that place...

We used to hunt doves in the low areas near the dam before the lake filled up...Nobody then or now seems to have a problem with that, except now you might need SCUBA ;-)

The Sabine River Authority of Texas currently has no restrictions on Texas
Concealed Handgun License holders on any of our three reservoirs, which are:
Lake Tawakoni, Lake Fork, and Toledo Bend Reservoir.

Thank you for your interest in the Sabine River Basin, Texas, and for
visiting our Web site."
