Well I just signed up to take my class June 11th. I have a question. I was arrested for public intoxication about 20 years ago. That won't keep me from getting a license will it?

They only search back 10 years but my CHL instructor told us to be truthful. I hate it when I tell the truth, I always get screwed. This time I didn't get screwed. Who'd a thought. Being truthful did cost me a really good job though. I gotta stop that.

Welcome aboard BSB....never had a PI....the 'non-measurable' out for taking someone into custody, cuffs and pokey. Define PI vis a vis DUI or drug possession. Not a LEO nor lawyer...but as my CHL Instructor: 28 yrs LEO head fire arms instructor and main armorer of a major DFW PD.... "PI is a joke"! ....making a CHL holder "being rightfully so held to a higher level of accountibility, as should be the case; the PI (if convicted) goes from Class C to a Class A!" Similar to the TABC arresting a hotel guest ( in Arlington or Irving, TX) - while staying at the hotel- b/c he would be DUI...jez...the guy wasn't going anywhere...he was in his hotel lobby bar!
Another example of arbitrary nonsense!
Advice....list it on your History side as well as disposition, date, etc.Then write "NONE" since 198X in the following line. Don't give them a reason to suspend for not having disclosed in first listing.
Again...not a lawyer....just advise our CHL Instructor shared in our class.
