San Antonio, where is off limits?

I'll be in San Antonio in early June for School Board training. We are staying on the riverwalk, and will be going out at night for dinner, and maybe a bit of sight seeing. Any place i need to avoid due to 30.06?

Any other school board members here that will be going?

From my experience, the riverwalk is pretty gun friendly, 30.06 doesn't come into play as much as the 51% rule.

I think Coyotte Ugly's is posted 51% and some of the other "Bars"are as well, I just don't remember which ones. The river walk is tough to carry at if you are going with a group, the group usually wants to hit the touristly parts of the walk, and you won't know where the group wants to go until you get there and see the sign.

I have carried there many times, to include last weekend, and don't recall seeing anything posted 30.06 I was with my family, so we didn't hit any bars which may have the 51%.

How about the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center where the Republican State Convention will be held? Anyone know if it's posted? My guess is it probably is.

Thanks GreenGuy,
It will be myself and the wife. We are not the bar type, so the 51% thing should not be a problem. I was and am mainly concerned with the shops and sights on the riverwalk, and any tourist or resteraunts I should worry about.
Thanks!

Took the family trip to San Antonio for spring break. Wonderful place. Didn't have any trouble at all carrying. Alamo is ok. Didn't go in any bars but did visit the Menger Hotel bar with the 1911 on board (I'm a very big TR fan) and it was not posted or 51%.

Have a good time!

There doesn't seem to be nearly as many SA members on this board as there are in the Houston and Dallas area so I guess I'll give my input. I have only seen one "real" 30.06 sign and that was at the gun show. I have seen a couple "no guns allowed" signs but you know that means nothing. Never seen a 51% sign but I never go to bars and clubs. Granted I've only been on the look-out for a few months now, but I've never had any problems carrying in SA.

GO SPURS GO!!!

Judging from its website, it is owned by the city of San Antonio. It therefore cannot post a 30.06 sign.

Just because a bar doesn't post 51%, you still can't carry this. You may very well already know that but just wanted to let ya know.

Yup, knew that, but thanks for reiterating, I see from my post that it was unclear.. Thanks for looking out..
