Kimbell Art Museum signage

#1

Post by revjen45 »

The Kimbell Art Museum has a stone sign to the left of the entry door with raised lettering of the same color as the sign. At the bottom it says "Possession of handguns on these premises is illegal," or words to that effect. There is no 30.06 sign at the door or anywhere else. Does this have the power of law? Can one be arrested for Criminal Trespass or just asked to leave if armed and it is discovered?

As I understand if it is not a LEGAL 30.06 sign, then you can walk past. But if you get asked to disarm or leave you must do so. I would contact the manager (after your done of corse) and tell him that is sign is wrong, and if it makes it right, only criminals will bring guns in.

I walked right on by, didn't touch anything, and kept my mouth shut. I would never point out an error of that nature to the kind of moron who would post it. It did make me a bit paranoid, but I still enjoyed the art.

And that will be the end of our freedoms
So be it, but I am not going to do it for them.

Guess we should just PM that stuff and do a little "PM Sent" in the thread ;-)
