Good business card message

#1

Post by Allofus123 »

A retailer I recently did business with sent a few business style cards along with my order and thought they were great. They're Missouri specific... would love to have one done Texas specific. Here's a copy of the front and back of the card.

You know, that's really a not a bad idea! I kind of like it.....

I'd change up some of the wording a little, but overall, I LIKE IT Allofus! :tiphat:

I agree, I don't personally care for all the bullet points on the backside but do like the "No Gun signs turn law-abiding customers away while advertising a safe working enviroment to criminals!"

I actually got one from another forum that I carry in my business card case. It is in color with similar wording and graphics on the front and a generic list of bullet points on the back that are not state specific. I always have some sheets of Avery business cards that I can print more cards when I run low.

If someone can give a little instruction on how to get a large PDF (2 sheets of business cards) on here, I'll post what I have.

Hmm.... let me see what I can whip up for Texas.. I'm fairly good with the Photoshop... Just realized I never posted these!!

I made pass-out cards for These forums, for people to take to their CHL classes. Check em out:

http://dicion.net/chlforum/txchl.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (Right click, save as. Doesn't always display in-browser properly)

I'll play around in Photoshop tonight and see what I can do with this.

Mike: if you want to email me what you have, I can make it up for printing in a pdf nicely, maybe tidy it up a bit, add more bullets for texas specific.

I like it so far. I'm anxious to see the finished product with the "no guns-no $" message and bullet points. :thumbs2:

Here's what I have come up with:

http://dicion.net/chlforum/chlcard.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This is not an actual print sheet, but a draft to show the plan. Please hit me with comments, questions, suggestions, etc. This will be outputted to an Avery BusinessCard Template, so you can just load, print, flip, print.

Crossfire: I just saw that link to the TSRA cards.

I have some reservations on their cards:
They have a gunbusters sign on the front, which, to CHL's holds no water. I don't understand why they would put that on there.

I put a semi-compliant 30.06 sign on mine, as that is the only way to actually keep CHL holders out of a business. I do not think we should go around telling gunbusters sign stores anything, as we can currently carry there. IMO We should only give these cards out to actual 30.06 sign locations to educate them on whom they are actually keeping out with their compliant 30.06 signs.

I'll toss out my guess as to the decision to use the ghostbusters sign. It may be an attempt to keep the proper 30.06 language from being easily accessible to them, while still making them think that a ghostbusters sign counts for something.

If that's the case, why give them anything at all... just let them be blissfully ignorant, and think that way, when it actually means absolutely nothing to us.

I agree, some still take offense to the attempt to post the location.

A sign that says "NO BAPTISTS" is not legal notice either. That doesn't mean people who complain to management are wrong for doing so.

True, but one is definitely more inflammatory than the other, at least to Baptists

My main problem is that, by giving them the Gunbusters Card, and saying that they're keeping out CHL's with it, that you're essentially lying to them.
I don't like being a liar, or even telling half-truths, especially if it's to advance an agenda that I'm pushing at the time. If you get called on it, it could make you look worse then when you started.

So, as I see it, the choices are as follows:

- Give them a gunbusters card, pretending that their little sign DOES keep out CHL's (lying, or at the very least, false representation in order to achieve your goal), and ask them to take it down.
- Give them a gunbusters card, but explain that it has no bearing on CHL's, and ask them to take it down anyways.
- Don't give them anything, don't say anything, and don't give them any reason to Put UP a 30.06 sign.

My mother always used to tell me that if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all. It may not fit this exactly, but personally, I think doing nothing about a gunbusters sign is probably the best decision to make. As I said before, if the business REALLY cared about barring CHLs from their store, it's pretty easy to find the correct requirements for a sign on the internet, and I'm sure a quick call to ANY chamber of commerce will get them the info as well.

Anyways, as I posted before, everyone, please give me input on this card, designed to be given at 30.06 posted establishments!
