You mean unsafe as in dangerous? Just watch the news.
Most inner city areas.
On the road by yourself and broke down.
The Leglistature in Austin is pretty dangerous... :smash:

Yes that is what I mean. I am looking for more specifics, I hope to build a list of areas to drive around rather than thru. I was thinking that it would be a good step to a safer lifestyle as I do alot of driving.

I guess I should have specified "hot" areas ... not entire cities. I am trying to put together a list of areas that should be avoided as best as you can. If it can keep one person from having to deal with a cruddy area than it will have served it purpose. I understand that things happen in all types of areas and neighborhoods. I also know that there are some areas where it happens more often than others.

100% on Houston. LOL.

But really, perception is subjective (obviously) and weighted.

And if you have to drive into an area (as I do for my job), carry if you can.

Realistically, a web based, community driven information source could never keep up with the daily changes in crime patterns. IMO

killerfly, it sounds like you are wanting to build a map based on the crime rates in particular areas. Well here you go:

http://www.spotcrime.com/tx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's really interesting to play around on that website. After you select a city, there are "push pins" that pinpoint particular crimes, down to the street level.

Houston, anywhere south of F.M. 1960.

Not safe enough?

Then try Conroe, anywhere south of Hwy. 105.
