Ex-Employee revisiting old work place

Lets say I am a CHL holder and I work at a place that has the old 'no guns in the office' sentance in the Employee handbook and a worthless 'It is unlawful to have gun in the building' on the front door (even though I am tempted to add a 'oh no it isn't' to the end of it).
Now lets say I leave that employ and go to work elsewhere for a entirely different employer.
Now say I decide to pop back into the office to see my old buddies. Can I lawfully carry even though I know that the employee handbook forbids fireamrs in the office?
My own feeling is that I know the handbook and so should consider that 'written notice'.
Thoughts anyone?

You are not an employee any longer. They have not given you proper notice.
Carry away!

No matter what the law says I bet the employer would make a stink and you would be in a position to defend your actions. Some people automatically get all wound up when an ex-employee shows up armed. Go figure.

Upon further thought. Unless you were given verbal notice at some point.
However, I think Steve or someone may have mentioned in another thread that verbal notice is difficult to prove.

Who's to say you didn't forget?

I agree, but unless he had made his opinions common knowledge and were properly concealed no one would be the wiser.

If I ever leave my current employer, and I don't want to, I will certainly carry if I ever go back inside. The parking lot bill can't become law quick enough for me.

You could have legally carried when you
were an employee, although they could have fired you for violating company policy. Now they can't hold that over you. Carry away.

Does the word
concealed have any meaning?

When Alcatel laid me off some years back, I had home office materials to return, and boy was I tempted to suggest that they come and get them, or at least pay for packaging and postage, I did not feel one bit guilty going back there with a gun on my hip.

Absolutely correct Scott. Please forgive my oversight Kevin.

He doesnt need to forget. That was an employer/employee contract and he is no longer an employee, no 30-06 posted means carry away.

Verbal notice is verbal notice regardless of employment status.

Correct, but I didn't see the original poster mention verbal notice. He just said non-compliant written notice in employee manual and non-30.06 sign on doors.
