Re: Intentionally rammed
So, it's a hit and run?
Did you get her license plate number?
Also, If you will give out the specifics about the car/lady I will be on the lookout for her as I drive through Plano, Allen, Mckinney every day.

Re: Intentionally rammed
So when you gave your statement to the Plano PD, did you give them a description of the woman, her vehicle and her tag number so they can just go pick her up?
I hope you were going southbound - we don't need her type up here in Allen

Re: Intentionally rammed
yeah I actually interrupted the dispatcher and said "I need to give you her plate number & car description cuz she's about to drive off".
And it actually happened in Dallas (NW Hwy & Walton Walker). Coincidentally across the street from the "Mr. No Pants" episode last year. lol. Man I work in a great part of town.

Well glad you got her plate number. There for a second I thought she escaped before you could take those down. She will get what she deserves. Also, there shouldn't be any haggling with her insurance company since she decide to leave the scene of the accident.

Re: Intentionally rammed
I can't tell you how many times I have wanted to ram another driver. I just never had the guts to do it. How many times have we said to ourselves, "Why I otta ram that retard"?. That old woman has some spunk to actually do it.
Glad nobody got hurt... and I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Plano PD to gather up a posse. They are far to busy raiding red light violators. I watched a drunk guy while on the phone with them a month ago for 15-20 minutes while sitting in a parking lot. This was 3 minutes from the sub station. This guy was ramming stuff with his car and even came close to running over a guy in the parking lot. Plano never could get one of it's officers there. The guy finally found one of the exits out of the parking lot and headed down the freeway into Allen...slamming off curbs and retaining walls the whole way. I quit following him because I was worried he might kill someone trying to evade me and it seemed the Plano cops had no intentions of showing up.

Oh sure, we've ALL wanted to do something like that, but common sense tends to get in the way for most of us.03Lightningrocks wrote:I can't tell you how many times I have wanted to ram another driver. The insane part is that the road is two lanes. She pulled out into my lane - as opposed to the unoccupied lane - and applied her brakes. When I went to go around her (in the other lane) she rammed me. Now, couldn't she have just turned into that other lane to begin with? Of course, the cop mentioned the motel she pulled out of was kind of a hooker/druggie hang out. So....
And dont get me started on Plano red light cameras.

Re: Intentionally rammed
Good grief, mymojo....so glad that you're physically ok! And congratulations on some cool-headed self-control. I'm not sure I could have kept myself in check like that if someone intentionally rammed me. Of course, the suspect would have probably gotten away from me while I waited for the shock of disbelief to wear off!

mymojo - glad you're OK and hope she gets what's coming to her.
Now that, Sir, was a very wise decision, IMHO.03Lightningrocks wrote: I quit following him because I was worried he might kill someone trying to evade me...

Re: Intentionally rammed
I think I have personally paid for three of them with my fines. (red light cameras). One of my guys got rammed in the rear near that area. The girl was a stripper and offered services to not call the cops. Then she tried to drive off but was so drunk from the night before couldn't get the car started...LOL. Then she wet her pants in front of everyone. Yes... that is one real nice area...LOL. The Dallas cops just loved that one... LOL.

Mymojo
Thanks for reminding me of the parts of working in that area I don't miss. I spent over 20 years dodging drunks, druggies, hookers, and cop chases in that area from NW Hwy north to Royal. I've eaten in every dive and decent restuarant in that area and seen some really screwed up drivers at all hours.
Glad you're ok, and hopefully DPD finds her but I wouldn't hold my breath on her having insurance. That type rarely does.

As for following after a hit and run:
No judgements here but this just came up on the news:
http://www.kbtx.com/home/headlines/86614747.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
A Houston man accused of shooting a 13-year-old girl after a hit-and-run has been charged with murder.
Police say the incident started when 24-year-old Richard Calderon's car smashed into a vehicle and then sped away. According to police reports, the owner of the struck car chased Calderon's car to write down the license plate number. But police say Calderon then started pursuing that car and opened fire.
Houston police believe the girl was looking out the back window when she was shot late Wednesday.
Calderon was charged Thursday. Investigators said Calderon is licensed to carry a concealed handgun. Police say he told officers that he thought he saw something shiny in the front-seat passenger's hand, and that's why he fired.
This guy gives us a bad name but it is an example how not to go an "unhinged" man.....I would hate to get a family member killed over a car....that's why I have insurance.

Re: Intentionally rammed
My only intention was to point out an example of how something like a car wreck hit or run can quickly get out of hand. In the case of the OP, everything worked out fine but the family of the story quoted now has a dead 13 year old. Was it their fault someone shot the kid...no. But it wouldn't matter if they just called the insurance company and got the car fixed.Keith B wrote:blackdog8200 wrote:As for following after a hit and run:

Chasing down a hit and run is similar to investigating on your own after a break in / home invasion.... How many are involved?(average is 3-4 actors) What is the persons state of mind? She seemed out of control.....was she working with someone?
It is always easier to armchair quarter back than it is to be involved. The great power of this forum is the ability to "game" these scenerios so that when faced with similar situations, we have already worked out the possiblities and act decisively and responsibly.
