Two women were abducted from a northest Houston Jack-In-The-Box early this morning and sexually assaulted at gunpoint for hours before escaping from the suspected carjacker, who was injured fleeing authorities.
The women, both in their 20s, were in a Mustang convertible at the fast food restaurant at Mesa and Tidwell roads about 2:30 a.m. when they were abducted by a man with a gun, said Christina Garza, spokeswoman with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
The suspect forced the women to drive across the city and sexually assaulted them, Garza said. After being held captive for hours, one of the women tricked the suspect into going to an apartment complex in the 10300 block of Beltway 8, where her brother lives, under the guise of getting money.
Once she was outside of the car, the woman used a cell phone to call her brother. The brother, who has a concealed weapon permit, came out of his apartment and confronted the suspect with a gun, firing at him, Garza said.
In the meantime, the other woman managed to get out of the Mustang and escape, Garza said.
The suspect fled the apartment complex in the women's vehicle, but crashed near Wilson Road and Beltway 8 and was taken to Ben Taub Hospital. Garza said she did not have additional information on his condition.
Another happy ending...

Well done by the brother, but hopefully this is the impetus for his sister and her friend to both get training and a CHL too.

If they're not criminals, they can carry in the car without a CHL.
Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

Two women.....in a Mustang convertible......running around at 2:30am.......in Houston.
That is a recipe for disaster.
We ain't in Mayberry anymore.
Not blaming the victims, just questioning their common sense.

There's not much left of the Mustang. Looks like it might be totaled. Hope they had good insurance.

Shoot center mass, keep shooting until the offender is no more of a threat.

I'm guessing about $25k in improvements based on the photos.LarryH wrote:There's not much left of the Mustang
Funny how about half the wrecked cars I see that have missed corners or curves are Mustangs. You'd think they'd start putting better brakes on them eventually.

I don't think the brakes are the problem. The teenagers (and people with teen-age brains) who drive Mustangs "because they're cool looking" are the problem.KD5NRH wrote:I'm guessing about $25k in improvements based on the photos.LarryH wrote:There's not much left of the Mustang
