Sea World and other San Antonio tourist traps
I realize it has been pointed out that Sea World San Antonio is posted... but I have a couple of questions. We are planning on going there for vacation... We plan to go to other sights AFTER Sea World, so is it safe to leave my carry in the car, or is the parking lot itself covered by the 30.06 as well? Does anyone know about carry in the Spanish Governors palace, the Boat Tours, San Antonio Zoo?
Thanks!
Thanks!

All are city owned, so I doubt it.

I don't know how it compares to other places on the Riverwalk, but my wife and I always like going to Casa Rio when we're there.

Car is fine at Sea World, only the pedestrian entrance is marked 30.06, not the main (car) entrance.
As for the Zoo, Alamo, and Riverwalk, they are not posted. I was there in early April (2011), and did not see any signs.

Don't forget to visit The Alamo! IT's almost a requirement when visiting San Antonio.

We've got two little ones and we usually go to the Mexican places...lolwgoforth wrote:Is it kid friendly? We have 6 goingC-dub wrote:I don't know how it compares to other places on the Riverwalk, but my wife and I always like going to Casa Rio when we're there.

Or we can have a small TX CHL Forum BBQ at my place and invite other locals...that way, you know it is kid friendly.

If you're there on Saturday, then Florio's Pizza on Broadway and Nottingham, just north of Basse.http://local.yahoo.com/info-19243263-fl ... an-antonio closed Sun. and Mon.
Out in Helotes, there's El Chapparal, and on Blanco Rd. inside the loop (410), there's Los Barrios.
Downtwon, Shiloh's Deli on Houston.
The best place for burgers ever closed when the owner got cancer. Little Hipp's. RIP.
Boconne's was good Italian, don't know if it still is.
Of course, there's Lulu's Jailhouse cafe for one of these: http://gowalla.com/spots/71336/photos/2244780
3-4 lbs. Each.

There are two places in San Antonio that make incredible burgers. They make Chesters taste like McDonalds.Jasonw560 wrote:The best place for burgers ever closed when the owner got cancer. Little Hipp's. RIP.
The Lord's Kitchen at 35 and New Braunfels. http://www.thelordskitchen.net/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - Absolutely one of the best burgers anywhere. They even have a 2lb burger... Good, home cooked taste and hole-in-the-wall feel. Worth the drive no matter where you are in the city.
Big Bob's Burgers off of Rittiman and Harry Wurzbach. http://bigbobsburgers.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - Bob is a great guy and is opening a second location...he had a great Cajun place too, but closed it down. Burgers are juicy and fame broiled...he's even started making fried twinkies, which are not healthy, but taste great. Also, a great hole-in-the-wall feel. Kid friendly.

Re: Sea World and other San Antonio tourist traps
I was there visiting at the end of last year and it was not posted. There are a few other threads that cover that topic if you search. A couple of them were good.SewTexas wrote:the Missions are a national park, double check on the Alamo, I don't think it is, I think the Daughters own it, but ????

Re: Sea World and other San Antonio tourist traps
It is, but if the walk is crowded the tables outside can be a bit interesting. The do have inside seating if you want. The last time I was there we were with a group of 6-8 and we ended up with a table under a bridge outside. It turned out to be lucky when it started to rain.wgoforth wrote:Is it kid friendly? Re: Sea World and other San Antonio tourist traps
Almost got me there. I started to respond that they don't have any of that going on down there. At least on the Riverwalk.
