Anyone here a member? If so, what's your take on the proposed merger with TSRA? Did TSRA approve this at the meeting last week? I can't find anything on the TxCHIA website, but thought maybe some of you might know.

Member of both. Letter I got in mail today was the first I'd heard of it. But, I've not exactly been hanging out in all the same circles ...
I do recall thinking that, in recent TCHA newsletter, we could have done without mention of not-so-bright-for-someone-who-should-know-better twirling of loaded revolvers. But, hey, the man is quite involved and doing something there (at least writing for newsletter) that many of us are not, so I best leave it at that ...

I'm also a member of both and got my letter today. I haven't had time to think about or decide what I think would be best.Greybeard wrote:Member of both. Letter I got in mail today was the first I'd heard of it. But, I've not exactly been hanging out in all the same circles ...

Yes, I was there for the board meeting and the members meeting. An interesting discussion, and the result was as you were told. The possibility of merger may come up again, but the decision for now was to remain a seperate organization.Mike1951 wrote:The TCHA had a booth at the Bryan show this past weekend.
I inquired about the status of the proposed merger.
I was told that TCHA had decided they would rather keep their identity and focus on concealed carry.
I'm glad to know TCHA is present at the gun shows down that way.
