I have a Texas CHL. Is this sign enough to keep me from carrying my SD pistol in the park.

Nope. First off, it's public city and they cannot prohibit a CHL from carrying there. And secondly, it's not a proper 30.06 sign, which wouldn't even be valid on city property. That's for the non-CHL general public or sheeple.

Some parents say it is toy guns that make boys warlike. But give a boy a rubber duck and he will seize its neck like the butt of a pistol and shout "Bang!"......George Will

We had quite a bit on 30.06 but didn't cover much about alternative signs. My initial thought was that the sign didn't apply to me but I wanted additional opinions. Thanks for asking.

I wasnt being mean or sarcastic, i really was curious. A lot of instructors dont seem to be doing there job from some of the quetions we get here. There are no alternative signs and he should have made that crystal clear. If you have any questions feel free to ask them here as we have lots of good info.

There is a thread here, not going to search for it, but the gist of the thread is that DPS is now teaching to instructors that any no gun sign including the lawfully required sign means no guns and you can be prosocuted for walking past it. so with the ambigous information being given to students we have a porblem, the instructors being told that ALL signs apply to CHL and not just the legal 30:06 makes the instructors unsure so what they teach is unsure

I have done some searching for that thread and haven't found it. If anyone should run across it I would like to read it.

Signs for the CHLer thread - very useful. I reread it every few months for re-familiarization.
