Does anyone know if Cowboys Stadium is posted with 30-06 signage? The memorial service for Chief Petty Officer Chris Kyle will be held on Monday, February 11th at 1:00 PM at the stadium. As a retired Navy Chief, I will be attending. If I understand correctly, since this is not a sporting event, it would have to be posted with 30-06 signage, correct?

You can carry at a non-posted stadium if a non-sporting event that is not also statutorily off-limits is taking place. Jerry World (Cowboy's Stadium) is officially owned by the City of Arlington, so it can't be validly posted 30.06. However, they may have metal detectors or searches during other non-sporting events and trying to get past them would be a challenge and an uphill battle trying to convince them you are legal to carry there.

It wasn't posted when my wife and I went for a tour last summer, though the security guys did check her purse.

We both snickered about that because I was carrying.

No metal detectors when I was there, either.

On a related note, I went to a concert at the American Airlines Center, and noted the gun busters signs on the doors. Was reaching for my ID when I saw the guys with the metal detectors. I guess my wife and I looked trustworthy, because we got waived on past the security screening. :woohoo

I wasn't really looking forward to that conversation.
