I just purchased Insurance for CHL

I recently purchased some insurance called, "CHL Protection Plan". They provide legal assistance if you are ever in a situation where you must draw your weapon. It would be hard for me to dish out a 1000's of dollars to defend myself if in a CHL situation, which I hope I will never have to use.

I thought about that myself. In our CHL class, we got some literature relative to the same type of service. Although, I wonder with the castle doctrine law coming into effect in Sep. how useful and/or practical this would be to have after that point.

Good point. But, the way I have understood the insurance, it only cover up to going to court. So, it might be effective in these situations to help avoid court altogether.

Good enough for me. I still feel good about having it. They even have a 24 hr hotline, to appoint you a lawyer or advise.

The folks who sell that insurance are in a far better position to describe, but IIRC, it covers only through the grand jury level. If it goes beyond that, whether criminal or civil, you are on your own ...

I bought this myself last year. My feeling is it will be a great help getting through the grand jury level. If it proceeds past that, you have an attorney that you can start paying, or who can refer you to another gun friendly attorney. It helps me sleep a little better...which is what all insurance is all about. I hope I never have to use any of it.

You bought insurance from an internet company that isn't big enough to set up it's on merchant account so it has to rely on Pay-Pal?

You paid $129 per year?

PSC Range charges $150 per year and throws in the same insurance for free. I guess PSC is a pretty good deal.

PSC is not doing anything special.
If you are a member of a gun club, they may already have the same insurance.
If not, it may be time for your club to change policies.
If you need to contact an insurance agent about getting this coverage for your club, David Kimbrough is our club Secretary and his email is secretary@psc-range.com and he is also our Insurance guy. His company is located in Friendswood, so if you need his number you have a start.

This additional insurance coverage didn't cost the club anything Extra.

In case it's not clear.
I like Membership Shooting Ranges. I think they are one of the tools in the tool box that will keep gun ranges open for my children and grand children.

I also like Public Shooting Ranges. They are another tool in the same tool box.

I like PSC. I am proud of the club and its members. I would like other Membership Shooting Ranges to 'steal' our best ideas and take them to their home range.

I am a programmer. Programming may be the only profession where folks brag about plagiarism.

I am sure there are some other benifits that you should know about.

This week we have a weight loss / exercise program.
Saturday, our work day was washed out with 5 inches of ran in 3 hours.
We are going to make up for it with a work week.
