Yesterday as I entered my banks' lobby I noticed a small sign ( about 10 in. X 8 in. ) that read something like this :
No Firearms of Any Kind Allowed.
Is this just THEIR request or must I abide as a CHL holder?

Non compliant sign. You may carry at will into the bank unless an employee (FOR SOME STRNAGE REASON) informs you verbally. The sign holds no weight from a legal standpoint.

That's what I thought, but I had to ask. Thanks

Such a sign is obviously not intended for CHL holder because your bank could not be that stupid to think the non-compliant sign has meaning, right?
It might be to satisfy their insurance company WITHOUT affecting legal carry.

I'm of the opinion that many of the non-compliant signs I've seen around are posted just to placate soccer mommies and other clueless individuals - CHL holders know (or ought to know!) what constitutes a compliant sign, and by posting a non-compliant sign, businesses have made the decision to not exclude CHL holders.

+1
I realize that there are a lot of misinformed people out there, especially when it comes to guns and CHL's. But I have a hard time believing that all those non-compliant signs are accidental. Many of these business have staff attorneys or use a firm often enough that they would answer their "gun sign" question at little or no cost. Besides how hard is to look on the web for the answer!!
These signs are for the sheeple!

For those who would like the education, or those who might want a refresher, the statued describing a properly posted sign, which can affect a CHL holder, can be found here:
