I STILL have yet to see an open carry. I don't really count my buddy who open carried on some farm land he was maintaining.

This is unacceptable. ;-) I am planning to be in your city next month. Lets get together and end your situation. :txflag:

I have seen a few more recently including an encounter at Whataburger where I was in the process of pulling my shirt over my OWB rig only to notice a man leaving while openly carrying his.

Also spotted a man at Walmart rocking a very nice 1911. If he wasn't lurking in the parking lot I would have complimented it.

I saw a man OC at that huge furniture store in The Colony. I watched the crowd for a while and no one else seemed to notice. That was the second OC I've seen.

I saw a guy a couple weeks ago who appeared to be a supervisor of a work crew repairing a water line on the side of a street in Woodcreek. I motioned him over to my truck and we talked for about 5 minutes. I had actually seen him around before but did not know he was one of us. Anyway he was carrying a Sig 380 in a leather holster.

I saw my first 3 or 4 days ago in a Burlington Coat factory. I was also OC at the time. I just caught a glimpse of it while I was headed out the door, but he had a badge next to his gun. People were initially giving my weird looks and not-so-surreptitiously darting into aisles to avoid walking past me, but my son wanted a shoulder ride and I started bouncing him and doing a silly voice sing-song "duh dum, duh dum, duh dum, duh dum, duh dum dadadada dum dadum!" and then everybody was more focused on how freaking cute my son is. :biggrinjester:

When I am planning on open carrying, I also make an effort to dress a bit nicer than usual, such as wearing a polo shirt instead of my faded tshirts I like to wear on the weekends. You get a much more accepting reaction from "the crowd" when you don't look like a thug. I dare say most assume you "belong" with a gun when you are wearing a polo shirt and carry yourself with a slight bit of "I belong here just like I am".
:iagree:

I also make a concerted effort to be polite and friendly to those I interact with while OC. Never had a bad, or negative experience. :tiphat:

I saw an OC in the Fort Worth Cabela's a couple of weeks ago. He was with his daughter who had just received her LTC and they were trying to find the right holster for her. Being that it was Cabela's no one batted an eye.

I've seen a grand total of 1 non-LEO open carry. That was a week or so ago, a guy riding his motorcycle on my evening commute, Austin area. I was to his right and he was a lefty with it at about 7-8 o'clock. Since I was on his right, I couldn't see what it was other than it was a semi-automatic. I'm not sure if it was intentional OC because I believe it was in a IWB holster and his shirt was riding up.
Keep calm and carry.

I have always CC with a t-shirt and jeans/shorts. OC hasn't changed that stance so I dress with what feels most comfortable.

I saw my first one months ago back in February at Rosas' Café in Bedford/Grapevine.

I was at Walmart with my wife and two younger boys when I noticed a man CC, but might as well have been OC. You could see everything except for the serial number. I believe he was an off duty LEO. I did not get a chance to speak with him as we were both busy looking for school supplies last month.

In the 8.67 months that OC has been legal, I have only seen 2 OC's.

1. Chinese buffet restaurant in Lewisville: all black Springfield XD, fullsize, .40.
OWB, right hip.
I chatted with him and found he was active in the OC movement, so he jumped
on OC as soon as it was legal. No one was paying him any attention.

2. Pizza Hut, Plano. All black Beretta PX4 Storm, in .45 ACP. OWB, right hip.
One of the employees thought he looked scary, even though she knew him.
I told her she needed to be scared of unlicensed people, not LTC's who are OC'ing.

Thank you OC law for giving the 30.06 and 30.07 sign makers a great year. NOT.

SIA
N. Texas LTC's hold 3 breakfasts each month. All are 800 AM. OC is fine.
2nd Saturdays: Rudy's BBQ, N. Dallas Pkwy, N.bound, N. of Main St., Frisco.
3rd Saturdays: Golden Corral, 465 E. I-20, Collins St exit, Arlington.
4th Saturdays: Sunny St. Cafe, off I-20, Exit 415, Mikus Rd, Willow Park.
