Do you "carry" at home - SPIN OFF TOPIC
Nobody likes a hijacked topic, so...
Talking about our home carry/non-carry situations got me to thinking: In what ways are you prepared during the night? For me, I came to the harsh realization that I was defenseless last night. I wear "night and day" contacts, as I think they're called, which are meant to be worn non-stop for one month. Last night, I took them out and went to bed, and as I was lying there, I realized that even though my pistol was ready to roll (rail light included) only inches from my head, I would be a fool to draw it--much less attempt to use it--in my sans contacts situation. I've got an appointment to buy eyeglasses on Thursday.
What about ya'll?

I wear and very much prefer contact lenses (not the wear-all-night kind).
I keep glasses, a flashlight, and a cell phone within reach at night. I have trained myself to be able to put my hand on them without fumbling in the dark. They need to be in some kind of enclosed space, not on top of a nightstand with a flat top.

Luckily I don't need my glasses that bad. One thing I did do is install an alarm and a large dog.
The family knows the drill if the alarm goes off while we are sleeping. Kids hit the floor behind the bed away from the door and call 911 on their cell phones; wife grabs the cell phone and heads to the closet (where there are several loaded guns) and calls 911; and dad (me) grabs the gun next to him listens at door then cracks open. Nobody moves until all clear given.
Note: Have a house key attached to a chem light in case you have to toss it down to the police through the upstairs window.

There will always be prayer in schools as long as there are tests.

Ready to Roll
At night there are .40s on the nightstand both sides of the bed. During the day if I'm outside the fence I'm toting, even while mowing the lawn or cycling. The only time I don't carry is when I'm swimming...when they figure out how to make slides and barrels out of composite I'll even carry then!

I don't know anyone who has gotten Lasik for the advertised price. That $499 per eye come on is only for those people who never really needed Lasik in the first place. I paid $3000 to go from 20/400 to 20/60. No 20/20 guarantee for me. And trust me, I shopped around. After all, these are my eyeballs
we are talking about!
Anyways... even though I still wear glasses, (after 2 Lasik procedures) I am no longer blind without them, and I would totally do it again. And to keep this on topic, now I keep a Glock by my bed and I'm not afraid I might mistake the weiner dog for a short burglar and shoot her one night!
