Not recent, about a year ago, took less than 2 weeks.

Re: renewal time
Both of us, a couple months ago, on-line. We got our new cards in a couple of weeks before the existing cards had expired.

Re: renewal time
I renewed last year... took about 45 days, IIRC.
I wasn't in a rush, since I still had 6 months on my current license.
I've got no problem with DPS prioritizing new licenses over renewals with lots of time remaining. (assuming that's why it took a while)

Re: renewal time
Mine took about 2 weeks to renew in April 2017 (it was set to expire in October 2017); and then I did an anddress change in November 2017, and that took about 2 weeks or maybe a little less. So I think that in general, processing times have speeded way up.

Re: renewal time
I renewed in Oct 2016 online. Took about 2 weeks. Then we moved last June 2017 and I did a change of address - that one took about a week or so.
