I was and am a Cruz supporter. In fact, Trump was way down my list of He even appeared on it at all. However, I do not support the continued bickering from both sides, for and against Trump. The bickering and hateful rhetoric is furthering the divisiveness in the republican party.

With that said, this analogy comes to mind. Is it better to play Russian roulette with a fully loaded revolver or on partially loaded? Whether we like it or not, our country is playing Russian roulette. We, as voters, need to decide which version of Russian roulette gives us the best chance of survival.

I think the answer is obvious.

This may be the one rare case out of a billion where, "The devil you know is definitely worse than the devil you don't."

As I said in other posts: I'll hold my nose and vote for him in the fall - and - I'll convince others to do the same. But that's all I'm willing to do. I do not rejoice in his candidacy, and I will not rejoice in his presidency. But I'll rejoice if Hillary loses.

Such a shame...I was hoping to vote for someone I wanted, rather than to vote against someone I don't want. I haven't had that opportunity in a long while.

I confess to doubts that the substance of a President Trump will live up to the rhetoric of candidate Trump. That said, if Trump falls somewhat short of his rhetoric we are still better off than we are currently. If Hillary gains the Presidency but falls short of her rhetoric, we would simply be less worse off than if she fully lives up to it. My lot will be cast against Progressivism.

I voted for Cruz but would have been happy with any of the outsiders. The fact that so many establishment types are against Trump after the people have spoken loud and clear just proves how little politicians think of thier constituents. Good or bad Trump is what we got. Now take your toys a run along home.

Blame that on party leadership. I left the party, so I no longer get a say in how the party manages its affairs......nor do I care that much since the divorce was as much emotional as intellectual. But I genuinely feel badly for those who continue to be loyal to the republican party, without that loyalty returned in kind (see my previous comment about my friend who has actually worked for the party for 60 years now). Just ONE of the hallmarks of a leader is loyalty to the people he or she leads. If that loyalty is absent, you don't have leadership.....you have something else.....but it isn't leadership. If you still call yourself a republican AND a conservative, you deserve a LOT better than the party "leadership" has delivered. They love your vote and your money, but they don't give a tinker's curse about your desires for the direction of the party. In fact, they don't think it is your party......they think it's theirs. If you want to come along for the ride, you're welcome to, but THEY decide where the train is headed, not you. That's why I left......or rather, they left me. Your continued support merely enables the continuing fecklessness of the leadership. You deserve better. They do not deserve you.

I'll not try to talk you out of voting for whomever you decide to vote for. If you think, in your heart and mind, that your vote for Trump is less disastrous than a vote for Clinton or someone else, that's fine. But just understand that, whatever loyalty you had for the republican party in years past, that loyalty has exactly zero value at the leadership level.

I'm not going to be used that way any longer. Trump is a billionaire (if he is to be believed). He doesn't need my money to get elected. The republican party doesn't care about my economic values. They obviously don't need my money. The republican party doesn't care about my political values. It obviously doesn't need my vote. All of the above can also be said about Clinton and the democrats.......with the exception that Clinton, while not a billionaire yet (she hasn't been in politics quite long enough yet, but give her time), the rich enemies of my country and big Wall Street investment houses whom she sucks up to are more than willing to fund her campaign and bank account.

To me, voting has always been choosing the lesser evil. Anyone that would make a great leader and actually care and want to help this country would never subject themselves to the political election process we have. This is why we only have crazies running every year.

My vote for Trump isn't a vote for the Republican Party or the Republican candidate. It's a vote against the person who will complete the destruction of America, not merely the Second Amendment. I do not vote with blinders on, nor out of any naive loyalty to the Republican Party. There are two people running and I'm voting for the best last chance to save the country.

Could not have been said better or more simply and to the point. It's time to put aside political ideals and face political realities. The choice now is so amazingly clear and has been for a long time now that I don't know how people can keep droning on about voting your conscience, not voting at all, voting 3rd party so it gains support in the future ridiculousness and whatever excuse you want to come up with not to vote for Trump. The stakes are too high and every vote, whether cast or not, counts.

It feels extra-worse this time around. At least Romney seemed to be a decent human being.

I truly believe that any vote cast for another candidate, or not cast for that matter, has the effect of a vote for Hilldebeast. I do completely agree that we are here because of the establishment, but here we are.

POTUS cannot make law, the legislature does- and though modern presidents have exceeded their authority via executive orders, the constitution makes no provision for such. Our hope lies with strong and principled legislators made up of men such as Cruz & Lee etc who will stand firm in their convictions and shut down the government if necessary. The country is doomed without a principled leadership.
The President...shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law....
Article II, Section 2, Clause 2
I do not care who you vote for. It makes no difference. America is not great anymore. It is not the beacon of freedom that we once were. Sometimes a house is beyond repair and must be torn down in order to rebuild. No more bandages, we need a convention of states to clean up this mess of a dog and pony show...and the sooner the better as the hole we are digging is getting deeper.

Instead of denigrating those of us who will no longer run with the herd & support an unprincipled candidate & a corrupt system, maybe you should consider the future for your children & grandchildren. If we lose our constitution it will not be because of a president, but a malignant system.

I will not look at my sons and tell them that everything I taught them was morally right, I went against.

I am in no way enamored with Trump; however, I cannot fathom the alternative.

Ok I am home now.
The will of the people "Trumps" "rlol" the will of the politician's or party types. If the best those in the "Party Establishment" can do is try to sabotaged the process then they need to take their toys(votes) and go home. All they are doing by disrupting and trying to circumvent the will of the people is acting like a spoiled child.
