Happy 4th to all!!!! :patriot: Lets showcase some delicious 4th of July Que... since anyone working the smoker today will be around and likely on-line!

I'm cooking light today- no big party. So I only have 1 pork butt going and will do hot dogs for lunch to keep me going until we have pulled pork tonight.

Happy Independence Day! Not much chance of firing up the grill today in Houston. Too much liquid sunshine!

With 5he right equipment even those of us in north North Houston can put some meat on the electric smoker today. 8lbs picnic shoulder went on about 1-1/2 hours ago and expect to have a late pulled pork lunch with friends and family.

We're dry so far... but your set up is a lot like my rain option... I vent the stack to keep the cover from turning brown or burning. Great minds! :cheers2:

Happy 4th everyone! Suppose to be wet here today. I spent about 30 minutes on the porch with Ozzie (my wonderful dog) and we enjoyed the cool breeze and over cast skies.

Hope everyone has a great day. Cheers.

I ride a bicycle every day, love the smell of barbecue. And early enough breakfast.

Just the usual grilled (Thanks Weber Genesis!) hamburgers and hotdogs for us followed up by vanilla ice cream for dessert.

Unsolicited tip: Take the time to grill/pan toast your hamburger and hot dog buns in a small amount of butter. Will vastly improve their taste!
Please know and follow the rules of firearms safety.

Mojo84- Nice- not a lot of Texans know about or cook tri-tip! a rosemary and garlic paste run is unbelievably good on them... :txflag:

Dlh-Agree on toasted buns... even just over the grill if no butter handy!

A couple weeks ago I wanted to cook some beef but didn't want to do an entire brisket. Saw a couple smokers on YouTube cook tri-tip do I tried it brisket style. It was some of the best meat I've ever had.
