Today in Trump's 1st term as President

Re: Today in Trump's new term as President
A candidate's associates have a meeting to get dirt on their opponent, and one person at the meeting is Russian - CRIME!
The opposition candidate and her party pay a firm who contracts with a foreign national, with Russian contacts, to get a dossier of dirt on their opponent, who also coordinates with the DOJ, so they and the FBI know what they have, who in turn leak it to the press, so they can get surveillance warrants, and go after their opponent. - NOTHING TO SEE HERE, MOVE ALONG!
Some folks just need a reality check.

Just think of they actually investigated the Podedtas. Manafort would look like a saint in comparison.

Re: Today in Trump's new term as President
Conspiring with a foreign government to influence an election would be the crime. According to Don Jr.’s emails, that was exactly their intention going into the meeting.
Re: Today in Trump's new term as President
What statute was violated? Russian individuals say they have dirt on Hillary (and we know there is dirt) and offer it to the Trump campaign, what's the crime? Wikileaks has revealing dirt on Democratic campaign and give it to Trump, what's the crime? Comey gives info to NY Times and they use it, what's the crime? In Comey's case the crime is his for leaking it but not the NY Times for printing it.
I somehow don't consider getting salacious material on an opposing candidate the equivalent of conspiring with a foreign government to influence an election. Every politician looks for dirt on the opposition and it doesn't matter where they get it. Now the people providing the dirt may be criminals for getting it in illegal methods (Comey) but the people using it (NY Times) and every politician on the planet are not the criminals.

It appears that Manafort pleaded guilty to all that he's been charged with and has agreed to speak freely about everything of which he has knowledge.philbo wrote: ↑Fri Sep 14, 2018 10:06 am Another "tidbit" this morning... Manafort intends to plead guilty to two crimes of the seven he faced at trial: conspiring to defraud the United States and conspiring to obstruct justice.

Cohen seems to be talking freely too.

Did you forget or did you not notice that Cohen punked Lanny Davis and CNN in a brilliant move? And did you forget or did you not notice that the crimes Cohen pleaded to were not crimes? The prosecutors involved in the Cohen case hope they only get disbarred when this settles out.dale blanker wrote: ↑Sat Sep 15, 2018 1:09 amIt appears that Manafort pleaded guilty to all that he's been charged with and has agreed to speak freely about everything of which he has knowledge.philbo wrote: ↑Fri Sep 14, 2018 10:06 am Another "tidbit" this morning... And another thing - Manafort had a title as campaign manager, but he never was. Kushner was is charge of the campaign the whole time. I'll let you think about that for a while.

I'm sure that they are singing like birds, about their individual crimes. Bank Fraud, etc.. Unless you have a source, of actual crimes, tied to Trump, what they say, to get reduced sentences, is meaningless. Trump, has made several mistakes, in selecting people to work with, mostly in hindsight, like Omarosa. Sessions, is not panning out to be very effective as AG. But crimes these guys committed, before working for Trump, only reflect upon them.
I'm still not sure what the MSM, or the left feel, is relevant, about the rabbit hole Mueller is going down, just to try, these people, for crimes, that have nothing to do, with the scope of his investigation. Their last "gotcha" moment fell through when Cohen's lawyer, said they had info regarding a meeting, but them backtracked, because, it was revealed, that Cohen's testimony before Congress, disputed that. Let them get what ever deal they can.
Meanwhile Trump is moving steadily along keeping campaign promises, and exposing the socialist, media, and dumbocrats, for what they are.

Not crimes? While a lot of right wingnut's and talking heads uttered this lie repeatedly since cohen's plea agreement was made in court, the crimes cohen plead to were real. Perhaps you forgot or failed to notice that cohen pleaded guilty to five counts of tax evasion, one count of making a false statement to a financial institution, and two counts related to campaign-finance violations which are directly related to trump's campaign? The prosecutors have their convictions in this matter. They won't be disbarred for being successful, quite the contrary I would expect them to be promoted.bbhack wrote: ↑Sat Sep 15, 2018 1:53 amDid you forget or did you not notice that Cohen punked Lanny Davis and CNN in a brilliant move? Trump may try to distance himself now that manafort has flipped, but he was directly involved in the trump campaign. Trying to recast historical fact with alternative truths is nothing more than blind denial. If kushner played a larger role than manafort, then it's quite likely that mueller may be tightening this investigation to include him next. I'll let you think about that for a while.

philbo, I know you are extremely anxious for a Pence Presidency, but, neither you, nor Mueller, have come up with anything, that ties Trump to any criminal activity. Did he hire a crooked lawyer? Yes, but I would venture to guess, that Cohen, is not the only lawyer in New York, that fits that bill. The "campaign finance violations" that he plead guilty to, are not crimes. He cannot be charged with "campaign violations", because he was not seeking office. The tax evasion, etc. are, so he will face the consequences for those. Paying someone as part of a non-disclosure agreement, is also not illegal, it is done all the time, not only by politicians, but celebrities, of all types.
I'm not sure why you think that Trump being charged with any crimes, or will subsequently be impeached, is an attainable goal. Nor do I understand why you think policies, will change under Pence.

If you want to know about the left and what the press does not mention.
I have to be careful here, as there are forum rules.
I can't post a link. I don't even know I can tell you what to look for on Google.
John Podesa has a brother, his name is Tony, he is a rich lobbiest.
He likes art. His kind of art. Lefty art.

Tony could be in trouble.

Apparently Manafort's guilty plea also means that Tony Podesta should be indicted as they worked together both as unregistered agents of the Ukraine. So if he is singing and if the investigation is fair or if Meullar is at least trying to give the impression that the investigation is not just looking at Republicans, Tony Podesta should be arrested any day now.
Imagine how Tony could sing if he was arrested. He probably knows everything about the Clintons.
But then he would have a heart attack. You know from the stress of a boy like that going to prison. I have heard the inmates are especially hard on guys like Tony.

The Deep State will never allow Tony to sing.

The reason he did is up to question. But after he punked his Clinton era laywer, and embarrassed him and CNN, it sure does not seem like he's working against Trump.Killadocg23 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 15, 2018 2:38 pmDid you read what you typed?
