The Covid cover-up began in China. But in a way we make too big a deal of that. No one should be surprised that a totalitarian government run by the Chinese Communist Party would seek to cover up its responsibility for a worldwide pandemic. Each institute should be led by a director who is appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate for a limited term of five years.

Anthony Fauci—who wielded tremendous power over many decades—funded dangerous research, lied to Congress and the American people, flip-flopped on many of his prognostications, issued edicts that defied science, and attacked and smeared his scientific critics.

I have been reading a book titled "The Real Anthony Fauci" by RFK Jr.
Written several years ago, heavily cross-referenced and foot-noted.
When I say this, I mean that I could probably spend the rest of my life reading all of the material that is referenced in this book.
An eye-opener, to say the least.
I have lost a lot of faith in various governmental agencies over the years, but this one was the most impactful and convincing.

There has been a system of corrupt technocracy built up over the years. The NSA gives the bosses an information advantage over the public. I use encryption/privacy choices whenever I can (DuckDuckGo, Signal, Protonmail, telegram). Those systems may not give me 100% privacy, but at least Google, Meta and some of the other snoops won't by spying as much on me.
