Not a cartridge, but the .38 ball for the 1851 Navy Colt .38 Cap & Ball Revolver. Historically, Texas bailed out Colt Firearms with the large purchase of the Walker revolver. In appreciation, Samuel Colt adorned the cylinder of his Navy Colt with an etching of the Battle of Campeche commemorating the Texas Navy victory over the Mexican Navy in 1843. (While technically a draw, the Mexicans suffered much more damage and dead and wounded.)
BTW, the Pieta replica revolver has this etching on the cylinder.
What should be the Texas State Cartridge/Caliber if Gov. Abbott declared it?
