Also this is not the "CCW a full sized pistol" thread, even though some of you seem to be stuck in that groove. I am a member of 3 different CCW/gun forums and the original post in this thread was related to my experience on all of them along with interactions at gun shops and other personal interactions, not just one thread on this forum.
Many of you are suggesting that I am easily rattled or I have a thin skin and that's not the case. Mostly it's that I took the time to write out what I thought was a clear, reasoned, and non-antagonizing post and it only took two replies for someone to pop in and start name calling. It's just not worth it. But still the chorus of respondents on this thread almost universally are trying to tell me I am wrong. Some who didn't even read the original post are finding another thread on this forum to refer to and tell me I am wrong. I find that kind of amusingly ironic. There is one member of this forum who continues to remind me of the virtue of not posting in threads that may be controversial. I am going to see if I can take that advice.

So you are going to let that one person keep you from participating in a healthy discussions about topics that come up.

Since I am that one person, I am reluctantly participating in this discussion.Wildscar wrote:So you are going to let that one person keep you from participating in a healthy discussions about topics that come up.
I've asked you to repost what I think was a very good post and you have decided against it. I respect your decision. However, if you are not going to repost it, then I think it's unfair for you to continue defending your position on a post others cannot read.mr.72 wrote:I am not going to re-post it.

Submit to pressure from your peers and you move down to their level.
Speak up for your own beliefs and invite them up to your level.
If you move with the crowd, you’ll get no further than the crowd.
When 40 million people believe in a dumb idea, it’s still a dumb idea.
Simply swimming with the tide leaves you nowhere.
So, if you believe in something that’s good, honest, and bright – stand up for it!

Me? A "bad apple"?
Apparently my lack of empathy for, what I consider to be, one of the primary failings of the “Gen X/GenY community i.e. the “I want it now and I want it ONLY on my terms mindset,
which I equated with the term “whining,
marks me as a “bad apple.
Hummm……
Have a nice day.
It's your choice. Your posts are the face you show to an online community, especially if you haven't met many of the people live. If you delete well spoken rational posts, you deny people the chance to see that side of you.mr.72 wrote:I am not going to re-post it.
