well its is because the same people that feel like that are at home waiting on a check in the mailbox so while you and i are out working to provide for our families, they have time to vote on polls such as this one.
The principle at this school does not have good enough judgment to be in a position of authority. Every time I begin to think that I have seen it all, something else comes along and lowers the bar of my expectations. No one better wear an American flag on Saint Patrick's day or I am going to be deeply offended.

Utterly unbelieveable Ban the American flag? Who is voting yes to a question like that anyway. Where do they think they are? Hello out there in fruitcake land: this is America!

I was telling my wife a couple days ago that I am glad my father is not alive to see what has become of this country. He was an Army Medic in WWII, was at Normandy and was wounded twice. His second injury sent him home with a Medical Discharge. A lot of WWII vets have been spared seeing the condition of the country today.
Has our generation failed my father’s generation? Has our generation failed the generations to come?
God Bless America, and please hurry.
God Bless America, and please hurry. When I was young I knew all the answers. When I got older I started to realize I just hadn’t quite understood the questions.-Me
The irony of this is the freedom that the American flag represents allows others to celebrate and embrace their cultures in this country. However, if the students were taunting the others for celebrating Cinco de Mayo they should have been sent home for that ...........NOT because they were displaying US flags or red, white, and blue colors.
The news story I saw said that the school district did not support the Principal in his decision to send the kids home.
To wear an American flag on the 5th of May is racism at it's worst! Those kids should be forced to do a written apology to the Hispanic community and still be expelled! Oh, and all you rednecks, hicks, ebaumsworld-tards, and neo-Nazis need to understand that we're here to stay, and you are required to accommodate us and our culture!
You know, I'm from another country, and I've always been met with smiles and friendship here in Texas. This guy I'm quoting is an idiot.
he also missed the part that said the kids wearing US flags were full or part Hispanic.
When I told my (Texan) wife about this, she pointed out that I didn't spend April demanding that the US celebrate St George's Day, an English holiday, so why celebrate a Mexican one?

P.S. I will make sure that every Cinco De Mayo from this day forward will see me wearing/displaying an American flag.
exactly what I was thinking.. of course most days I'm wearing a full color one on my sleeve anyway, or in a different country wearing an IR version...
