New iPhone?

Re: New iPhone?
Tomorrow? Really? I have the 3GS and am hoping maybe Santa will bring me a new one. I want to hear reviews on the 5 before I get one. I have heard that none of the accessories (like car charger/docking station, etc.) we have now will fit it.

Re: New iPhone?
They sell pretty well on eBay. I sold my IP4 there when my contract term ended. I went back to non smartphone voice only 39.95/mo plan on ATT. I had the Samsung Eternity from before I got the IP4 and just went back to it with no new contract.
I got too many computers to have a need for a iPhone device with exorbitant initial and contract service charges.........
I woke up from being drunk on the cool aid. I just refuse to pay more for cell phone service than I do for electricity! CRAZY!

I plan on pre-ordering as soon as it's announced. I went and traded my iPhone4 into Best Buy on Sunday for $210, so I'm hoping to upgrade for basically free. As a side note, I have been using an OOOOOOLLLLLLLDDDDDD samsung flip phone since Sunday. It took me two whole days to figure out how to actually text on it.... time flies.

for my Galaxy Note. Now Galaxy Note V2.0 is announced. I just hope there is a buy back program from Samsung when note 2.0 is out.

Re: New iPhone?
I was listening to the radio this morning on my drive in to work and they were discussing the iPhone 5 and one scary new feature it is reported to have.
It seems that each iPhone 5 will have it's own uniquie 10-digit code. This code will allow any two iPhones to instantly connect and the users can communicate in real time. When someone uses your code, your phone will alert, regardless of your wishes.
If anyone finds out your phone's code, they will have the ability to bother you any time they want. This means that a business could bother you just as you are sitting down to dinner with your family, when you're in the middle of a business meeting, or any other time of THEIR choosing!
Rumor also has it that phones using Android and many other operating systems are ready to jump on the bandwagon.
Most disturbing of all, it seems there are several publishers who stand ready to print books listing your name and 10-digit code. This is a particularly slippery slope because it's only a matter of time before one or more of these publishers decides to put your home address in their book!!!

Re: New iPhone?
It's a 5.1" screen and 4g. I love it. The browser is faster than my computer at work. It has plenty of ram. The screen is a wonder to see. the best thing about is the battery. Its a HUGE battery. As long as I dont surf for hours I can get 3-4 days usage out of it. It also functions a mobile hotspot. So if you have other Wifi enabled devices like iPads they can use the phones 4g connection.Rex B wrote: I do like that size better, if it's still pocketable.
I'm OK with Android too, my tab is a Toshiba
It is big but it does fit in my jeans pocket and my suit pocket. The only think I worry about is when I close the car door the door hitting it in my pocket and breaking it. But it feels pretty sturdy and no problems so far. I have had it for about 6 months now. Just be prepared to explain to people what it is. Every time I use it at least 1 person wants to know what it is and can they see it.

Re: New iPhone?
Anyone else remember when we wanted smaller phones? Now we ask for a do it all device that is as big as the 1980's suitcase cell.... What happened to simplicity? All I'm saying is if I get hit by some [abbreviated profanity deleted.] texting and driving or looking at his Facebook while swerving. I'm gonna be in jail for

Re: New iPhone?
Have been using an iPhone 4 for the last year. Had a droid x before that. I was not impressed with the spec's of the iPhone 5 released today. It seems like a relatively minor upgrade IMHO. I will be upgrading in December but am taking the iPhone 5 off my wish list. I probably will go with the Galaxy Note 2 or the HTC DLX.

I was unimpressed too. I don't think I'll be upgrading anytime soon, but if I was, the Nokia Lumia 920 is looking pretty good. NFC, Wireless Charging, LTE, 4.5 inch curved glass with twice the refresh rate, 8.7 megapixel camera with image stabilization, and so on...CowboyEngineer wrote:Have been using an iPhone 4 for the last year. Re: New iPhone?
As much as a Apple lover that I am, I have to say I'm somewhat underwhelmed. Yes, the new 4" screen looks good, the A6 chip looks like it'll increase processing speed significantly (though I have an iPad 3 for any real processing work I do), and the iPhone 5 does look really sexy in the new black & graphite. But it is really worth upgrading this time? I dunno. I've had every new iPhone since the 3G. I'm thinking I'm gonna skip this one. Besides, most of the truly neat features are in the software, not the hardware. And iOS 6 is being released in 6 more days.
On the plus side, with the reduced pricing on the 4 & 4s, looks like Mom is gonna upgrade to the 4s and we'll upgrade the kids to the 4.
