Yeah, everything was going fine in the episode until then, that was a bit much. Did that come from the comics though? or are the producers/writers just taking liberties?Texas Dan Mosby wrote:What I saw last night when they pulled the "ghost of Lori".....which I thought sucked as much as the "ghost of Shane" gig in the last episode.

From a few interviews I read of both the comic writer and the show producer, in comics there are multiple "phone calls" from the dead wife that - in TV time - would take place over multiple episodes. The TV folks decided this would get monotonous on TV, do decided to change it up with hallucinations instead. But in the comics Rick does repeatedly encounter the spirit of his dead wife, driving him toward madness.

Re: The Walking Dead!
Thank You for the explanation. I have never read the comic of this show. At least I get why they did that now. I agree with other that said it was good until they pulled that one.A-R wrote:knotquiteawake wrote:Yeah, everything was going fine in the episode until then, that was a bit much. It certainly looks like he's finally cooked off. And he'd better straighten out the way he deals with Mishon (sp?). She's the best friend they've got right now.

I thought the same thing. Rick is quickly running out of soldiers and he refuses to recruit from the new groups they meet. I get why they had to ditch ole Merle. That guy is nothing but trouble.Dragonfighter wrote:It certainly looks like he's finally cooked off. And he'd better straighten out the way he deals with Mishon (sp?). Re: The Walking Dead!
Got to say I was a tad disappointed in the season opener. There's not enough of the core group left to be interesting, and I haven't gotten interested in anybody in Woodbury. Rick was more interesting when he had Lori look out for.
In the first two seasons, the show was really character driven. Not so much now with everybody going looney. You need some normal people around for an audience to identify with.

I think things got a little better this episode. Not better for the survivors, but better for the story and viewers.

High Point, Daryl to the rescue. Low Point, Andrea continues clueless. Shock Point, Axel shot.

It took about 10 tries on the first episode before I could finally get through it, but in the last week I've gotten through the middle of the second season. Yeah, I'm a little late to the party. Are these people dumber than a bag of hammers? They have got to be the worst survivalists I have ever seen. There is more believability in a Rambo movie.

yet you made it 1/2 way through season 2... I'm with you though. Don't give up. Second half of second season is much better than first (though still thoroughly unbelievable).Chris wrote:It took about 10 tries on the first episode before I could finally get through it, but in the last week I've gotten through the middle of the second season.
