How was he "out of bounds"? What is the purpose of a carry weapon, if not to be used for defense?

If you've been around young people who use "street lingo", "get off" has nothing to do with physically being atop someone. It's akin to saying "get out of my face".
Are you saying Zimmerman got close enough to Trayvon causing Trayvon to ask Zimmerman to get out of his face? Therefore, it is reasonable Zimmerman could have given Martin a shove or grab his arm, thus Martin returning with a blow to the nose. We only have one person able to give account. Going back to the original question regarding if Martin committed a felony; there is reasonable doubt that he did not. Just as there was reasonable doubt Zimmerman did not murder Martin. Let's see how the civil trial go, if there is a trial.
There won't be one. Zimmerman is immune from civil suit.

Is that a law in Florida?
Yes.

If I understand correctly, GZ will have to go through another hearing on Stand-Your-Ground before civil immunity can happen. MOM or Don West mentioned that if he is sued civilly that they do plan to do that.

I find it interesting that the Florida statue allows the defendant to recover attorney fees if the court finds the defendent was justified under the self-defense law.

That means that the Martin's are going to have to risk some of those millions they've received to get their attornies to sue (since such a ruling is a very real possibility).

Mr. Martin was out of bounds in what he did and suffered the consequences of his decisions that night. However, there was evidence of him committing a crime, e.g. assault and battery. Justice was served in this case.

Rachel Jeantel also said during her Piers Morgan interview that TM thought GZ might be gay and was giving him a whooping before he could rape him. Since GZ is not gay and was not about to rape anyone, that makes what TM did a hate crime. She also said that GZ should have just taken his whooping. Who just takes their whooping?

Others have already covered the civil immunity question.

There will always be things that anyone can find about what someone did wrong after the fact. That whole hindsight and Monday morning quarterbacking thing. At the time, GZ wasn't even afraid. If he were he would have called 911 instead of the non-emergency line and probably wouldn't have gotten out of the truck.

I did not follow this trial very closely. Was the actual sequences of events from the time Zimmerman got out of his car to the shooting ever established? I've seen a lot of speculation but nothing definitive in that sense.

I've seen several recent accounts from people who think that a man who is "taking a whooping" doesn't have the right to pull out a gun and kill someone for punching them. Yet, when a black kills a white with blunt force trauma to the head, the blacks want to claim that the justice system is corrupt by sending a disproportionate number of blacks to the pen. I never hear blacks crying out for social justice against anyone in their own race (generally speaking). Seems like the cries for SJ are racist by nature. It's easy for me (a rational white guy) to tune it out because it is never objective.

This is the timeline that O'Mara showed the jury in his closing.

From what I saw it appears Zimmerman got out of his car to find an address for the cops. Zimmerman was headed back to his car when Trayvon stalked, circled back like a rabid hyena and viciously attacked and attempted to murder him. I have watched predators on African shows do the same thing to loan animals separated from the pack.

My mom lives in a place like that in Florida. Every darned place in her neighborhood looks exactly alike... Even down to the paint colors. Craziest thing I ever saw. I can't figure out how she ever finds her place when she leaves and comes back. I went to a store and drove around for almost an hour trying to find her darned car. I can understand how Zimmerman would have not been sure what address he was close to.

If TM is still alive, shot or otherwise, most likely he would charged with aggravated assault. Let everyone else who do not like this fact is just to forget about this case and go home.

Print on the flags is WAY too fine to read. At least for these old eyes on my computer.

Double click on the image. It gets much bigger.
