I will bet he doesn't get arrested. I think the wife was blowing things out of proportion on the call. And, she even stated 'he's in his car and has his hand on his gun and telling us not to come closer....' Well, if he is in his car he not a threat. Go back into the house and call the police, but don't stand outside antagonizing him.

Bottom line, people in the midst of divorce many times exagerate or let their imagination run wild in a heated argument and think the other person is gonna try and do all kinds of bad things to them. I think once she calmed down she realized that she and the Dad may have been just as much at fault of escalating any argument than GZ.

I read an article today that said she was told by police that if she pressed charges that day, she would be arrested as well. She's on probation... She said she never saw the gun, but he acted like he had it and kept telling them IF they come any closer... And the big shocker is she doubts his story about the shooting!

Typical nasty divorce stuff just in a public setting. Pretty disgusting really. But when you rip two things that have been joined together apart I imagine it is always pretty gory. We Erne just seeing this one play out on a national scale.

Unarmed volunteers may be new there but not here. Local PDs have groups and all that I know about must be unarmed. Some are in different color vehicles than officers but it sure seems like you are putting your personal security at risk, hoping that a uniformed (and armed) officer can get to you in time based on your radio call . Given the trend of criminals who seem to desire soft targets, I won't be volunteering any time soon. It is a shame that you have to give up your rights to be of community assistance.
