Speaking of stupid, there's some terrible reporting going on with this incident.

Turns out that they weren't using a bullet proof vest, they had an old flack jacket.

While they were a form of light body armor when they were issued, flak jackets are not remotely bulletproof vests. Flak jackets were designed to stop small, low-velocity pieces of shrapnel from exploding artillery shells and hand grenades, not bullets

Also, turns out she was lying to cover for someone else. She was being held Friday on a charge of being an accessory after the fact to a felony. A different man did the shooting.

OMG! :banghead: :banghead: An old flack jacket......Can we get any stupider? :banghead: It is a heartbreak but sometimes Darwins rules apply. If you are stupid enough to put on a flak jacket and say "shoot me" then perhaps the human genome is better without your DNA.

While in Nam we tested a flack jacket and a helmet.A 7.62 out of a M14 will go completely thru either one.
Nobody was dumb enough to wear either one while the test was done.
