Overnight numbers from Johns Hopkins shows "the number of reported cases worldwide hit 5,000,038 and the global death toll now stands at 328,172."

I wonder if history, looking 10 years into the rearview mirror, is ever going to be able to make accurate, apples-to-apples comparisons of the numbers as reported (or under/over reported) by country.

Before plandemic most of the commenters here scoffed at news originating from the main stream media. Now it's often regarded as trustworthy.

John Hopkins is not to be trusted, they have been involved with the Gates and the virus promoters long before this started.

The question is never answered: Are these increased "cases" actual hospitalizations or confirmed illnesses or merely a positive test? To me, a positive test is not a "case" it's merely an indication that someone was exposed and their immune system did its job.

I ran across this article this morning. The '68/69 school year was my junior year of high school. Like the article's author, I remember a LOT of things from back then....but I don’t remember a pandemic, or any panic generated by one.

My junior and senior years in high school were 1968 and 1969; five decades later, I can still remember some of the main events of that era: the assassinations of Martin Luther King and Robert F. Kennedy, the bombing of Cambodia, the Apollo 8 spaceflight that orbited the moon, and Woodstock, which I pleaded with my parents to let me attend. (They said no.)

In my personal life, I remember playing on the basketball team, buying my first car, working in my family’s corner grocery store and wishing I had the nerve to ask certain girls out on a date. Here’s what I don’t remember: the pandemic of 1968-1969.

Draw your own conclusions, but there’s some credible evidence that lockdowns ultimately don’t work; and the damage they do can be greater and longer lasting than the disease itself.

They may work on the individual micro level, as individuals decide for themselves how to respond, but they probably don’t work very well on a policy level. I did not arrive at this intuitively. I have a healthy instinct for self preservation, and I have acted accordingly in my own life. But I’m NOT convinced that the policy positions being taken, ESPECIALLY those being enforced by totalitarian minded governors, have been anything other than damaging to the nation's future stability.

John Hopkins is not to be trusted

This is especially true with regards to the numbers of cases they are reporting. I have no idea ho their count came to be regarded as the most accurate other than it is also the highest. When you read on their web site the methodology of how they got their cases, they are taking counts reported from hospitals, state health departments, the CDC, news media reports, and even anecdotal reports on a physician's forum. It is almost guaranteed to be double counting cases.

And that is without defining what is or is not a true COVID-19 case or death. I noticed their counts did not drop when Colorado recalculated their death counts and lowered it.

IMHO, there is only one way this virus stops. Heard Immunity. That will never happen while everyone hides in their living rooms. Even a vaccine won't stop it. Not unless 300 million people get the vaccine, and we know that is not going to happen. So at some point all this over reaction has to be brought back in check and everyone will to get back to life again. Now that we all know 99% of the people who get it will be just fine. We also know that 80% of the deaths are in people over 65. It is time to get a grip! This virus does not justify the extreme PARANOIA that is centered around it.

In 1968-1969, a new strain of the flu virus started spreading. This virus was dubbed H3N2. It was never seen before by mankind, and it spread fast and hard, killing a million people worldwide and 100,000 people in the US. Translated to today's numbers, it would've killed 160,000 people in the US. A vaccine was quickly created and circulated. Because of the nature of the virus, it undergoes regular mutation, so the vaccine is currently maintained in the annual flu shot as the virus is still wide spread.

Considering how so few people take the flu shot today, the low number of people who did back then, and also how NOTHING like quarantines or "social distancing" was done to mitigate the spread, how did it just fizzle out into a relative nuisance? As far as I'm concerned, it was just herd immunity unless someone can explain the contrary.
