What's your EDC knife?

A pre-broken knife is handy for opening boxes and other mundane tasks but I like a fixed blade for self defense.

Recently gave up on an old Gerber and picked up a SOG AE-04 Aegis ($67 shipped no less). Couldn't be more pleased...

Re: What's your EDC knife?
My EDC is a Kershaw Spec Bump, a Ken Onion design that has, alas, been discontinued. It has a 3 5/8 S30V blade with a tungsten coating, and a precise centerline along the point. One of the things I like about its unusual shape is that it can be used in a reverse-edge grip securely and feels almost like it was made for it. The clip is overly wide, making it more obvious than I would like, but that's about the only flaw I ever found with the knife. Carried it for about five years now.

...San Antonio...I just bought my boy a Case folder with about a 3" blade that doesn't lock...strange laws in that town...seems like they'd rather regulate the weapon than the one who misuses it...we know that don't reduce crime much... ![Rolling Eyes ](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)

Kershaw speedsafe. It's about 3.5-3.75 inches half serrated with a tango tip. I've had it about 2 years.

I've always carried a Kershaw Ken Onion Blur until I found a SOG Aegis (pictured below). I love the flat ground blade, and the lightweight Zytel handle has great texture for a non-slip grip.

I carry a two inch (2") red Swiss with scissors, small blade and file. It also has a toothpick and littly bitty tweezers. I feel absolutely nekkid without it. ![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)
