Carl, I know we will. Maybe down the road we'll be able to step up to something bigger, but I think we got a nice one that will last us for a good while.

Looks really neat TAM. Enjoy it and keep us posted on how you like it. I saw a YouTube of one and it looked very nice.

Congrats! The Jayco won over the Casita? Must have a built in gun safe!

TAM that is great looking. We need to get together and take a trip to Beaver's Bend at Broken Bow, OK. for a day or two. It is a beautiful place. I am happy for you and your dear wife and I know it will be great memories made with the grandbabies. :cheers2:

Carl, I'm up for that!

Hey, this trailer came with a free 1 year membership in [urlhttps://www.thousandtrails.com]Thousand Trails[/url]. Have you ever been a member, or know someone who has? Free seems like a pretty good deal, but I don't know if it's worth the $545/year to renew when the time comes.

One other thing...... Since I would NOT travel unarmed, how do most of these commercial campgrounds deal with firearms possession by customers? Do the ones in Texas post signage of any kind, or in other ways attempt to restrict possession? I'm thinking in terms of having a pistol along, and maybe a shotgun in the trailer.

Here is a link to a virtual tour of literally MY trailer's interior. Right now, it shows sale pending, with my trailer's serial#. Found out this morning that the loan is approved - not that I had much doubt. Insurance is taken care of, and when we go to pick it up on Friday morning, they'll put us through a 2 hour class, one on one with a technician, who will show us all the systems and how to maintain/care for them.

Tam we had the same thing 12 years ago. We went to the Thousand Trails at lake Texoma a few times. I would not buy their membership.

You can buy a Texas State Park pass and it cover free entry into all Texas State Parks. You do have to pay for overnight stays, but no daily fees and no fees for Day use.

I have a lifetime pass to national parks, but didn't know that there was something analogous for the state parks. With Thousand Trails, was it the annual cost that you objected to, or was it just that you didn't find the campgrounds that attractive to you?

With an upgraded towing system and electric brake controller, it comes to $21K, brand new.
Congrats and enjoy!

It is like a time share. I know a lot of people like their time share, but it has been my experience is cost a lot and then they get to tell you when you can stay. Also the Thousand Trails at Lake Texoma (only one we have been to) was not as nice as some of the other parks we had stayed in. I am sure it has changed since then, but their are so many places you can stay that are in my opinion are a lot nicer and cost a less.

TAM,

Did you get stabilizers?

If not, get them installed before you pick it up.

They're inexpensive and you'll thank yourself a thousand times for getting them.

My wife and I found that private RV campgrounds were often loud and filled with drunken louts.

Not tolerated in State Parks...

That's pretty slick! Congratulations TAM!
