Did I see it correctly, or did the woman out side remain standing and may be only slightly injured vs the woman who was inside and who was pushed by the glass wall out of the picture at a high speed?philip964 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 2:30 pm https://www.citizenfreepress.com/breaki ... om-beirut/

The Relative effectiveness factor of Ammonium nitrate is 0.42 . So 1 ton of Ammonium nitrate is the equivalent of 0.42 tons TNTRoyGBiv wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 12:15 pm 1 MT = 1,000Kg = 2204.62 pounds.
2750 MT = 6.06 million pounds
I don't believe it is correct to equate atomic bomb yields which are measured in terms of equivalent weights of TNT (Kilotons). This would only be correct if the energy yielded by 1 measure of TNT is equal to the energy released by exploding the same measure of Ammonium Nitrate.

So, 3031.356 US tons (2750 metric tons) x .42 = 1,273.16952 tons of TNT, or 1.273 kilotons ... or about equivalent to the low end of a a W45 tactical nuclear warhead's dial-a-yield of between 1 and 15 kilotons (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W45).Paladin wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 4:38 pmThe Relative effectiveness factor of Ammonium nitrate is 0.42 . Anyone you know injured or killed in the blast? Hopefully not.Beiruty wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 4:17 pmphilip964 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 2:30 pm https://www.citizenfreepress.com/breaki ... om-beirut/

On page 1:
I think we’re all grateful that he wasn’t killed, and that nobody else in Beiruty's family was killed or injured.Beiruty wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2020 11:04 pm Thank you all. My wife uncle was fishing near the seaport. He survived but was pulled out from under debris.
He was sent home with broken bones and bruises.
I saw a photo of him. He looked like a zombie, or 9/11 survivor
So sad. I saw many videos of innocent casualties but did dare to share them online
Thanks TAM. Guess I missed seeing that post. Hope he heals fully and quickly. The Annoyed Man wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2020 8:46 amOn page 1:I think we’re all grateful that he wasn’t killed, and that nobody else in Beiruty's family was killed or injured.Beiruty wrote: ↑Tue Aug 04, 2020 11:04 pm Thank you all. I can't get newsflare to display anything more than a blank white page. :(AndyC wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2020 5:16 pm Unseen footage shows moment of Beirut explosion in 4K slow motion:

It loaded for me; took a little bit but I'm always behind a VPN. On a 26" monitor, this was a pretty amazing look at how it proceeded. The cars on the roadway in the mid-foreground give a good idea of the actual timing. First time through, the video looks like it was running at either normal frame rate or just slightly slowed, like maybe .75, but shows the whole lead-up with small arms munitions cooking off or fireworks, and you see how long it actually took before the ammonium nitrate actually detonated. From there the blast is on top of the camera in a heartbeat. The subsequent pass slows it way down, but doesn't show all the fireworks stuff, just some. But, wow, do get a full sensation of the power of that blast. In slow motion you see the shockwave absolutely dismantle multistory buildings and everything in its path, and you can see exactly where the shockwave is as it rips stuff apart. The Annoyed Man wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2020 8:41 pmI can't get newsflare to display anything more than a blank white page. :(AndyC wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2020 5:16 pm Unseen footage shows moment of Beirut explosion in 4K slow motion:
