The House voted 121-23 to suspend the attorney general and refer him to the Senate for trial on charges of bribery, abuse of office and obstruction. It was the first such impeachment since 1975.

I’ve been aware for some time that he’s been under fire before, but I’m not familiar with the specific accusations against him. What are the specific allegations?

20 charges.
No evidence, no sworn witnesses.
A kangaroo court.
Notified lynn Stucky that he will never again receive my vote.
Just a RINO.

From what I hear it is all the same accusations they tried to hit him with before the last election. Nothing stuck and there is no evidence.
And the person he Peeeed off is Dade Phelan - the RINO speaker of the Texas house who puts Democrats in charge of important committees.
Phelan was obviously drunk on the job and Paxton called on him to resign.

Karma needs to give a full load high pressure dump on that trash Phelan. I'm donating money to anyone running against him next time. Where can we see the vote on this to see how ours voted?

Unless Paxton resigns, we'll learn the details of the charges at the trial in the Senate. My only issue is the distraction this creates and gives the Demoncrats more fodder during an election year.

Yes. You don't have to look hard to see Paxton has irritated a boat load of swamp creatures and leftists.
Crucially he worked very hard to keep the elections in 2020 honest:
The Dems can't steal as many votes with him in office... He also claims an 80% success rate everytime he sues DC. That would also make Paxton a major target.

I'm in District 91, and Stephanie Klick voted to impeach. She's a Dade Phelan supporter. I voted against her in the most recent primary. It went to a runoff and her opponent lost. I will vote against her again, for sure.

I'm in 129, Dennis Paul, who voted No. I'm not always satisfied with him but am in this case. Good luck ridding yourself of Klick.

Ditto. She’s my rep too, and I’m not happy about it.

He seemed to be doing a good job of filing the right kind of lawsuits against Brandon. I was pleased with his work.
I remember a while ago he had some charges levied against him for shady business dealings before he was AG. It sounded like business deals gone bad and people upset with losing money. Not disclosing a financial interest etc., failure to register securities, etc.
This sounds different.

I'm catching up here.
The House suspended him and sent Articles of Impeachment to the Senate without hearing any evidence or testimony? Right?
Now, the Senate will have evidence presented and hear testimony, hopefully, right? Then they can what? Uphold the suspension by finding him guilty and remove him or find him "not guilty" and return him to office? It seems like if the later happens, which is probably the most likely since he's been accused of all those things before without any or enough evidence to convict him, then he'll be back at work soon and all those that voted to impeach him will have to explain their actions. Is that about right?
