I am curious if anyone missing a significant number of fingers has dealt with DPS on the fingerprint issues.

Why, after your prints are initially recorded and you're issued your CHL, are they required ever again?
Would it be to prevent false applications?
Anyone actually know?

1. To make sure the person filing the renewal is the same as the original applicant.
2. To record any changes to the prints such as scars that may have happened since the last set was taken.
At least, this is the way it was explained to me.

Using the Sherlock Holmes method, I conclude the requirement for prints for renewals is to discourage renewals.
