I'm sorry if I offend anyone here but that sounds like typical Cleveland, TX business to me. It seems this guy got a little over confident after probably doing this one or two times and then started doing it in bulk. Furthermore I think it's crazy that the Cleveland Police Department had five hundred plus seized pistols. It's a very small town with a small police department. I wonder how old some of those things were.

I'd bet the BATFE is just busy trying to prove to everyone they are now worthless.
That being said, I would rather see police departments sell the guns they planned on destroying, get some funds, and we the citizens get a good deal on a used gun. Same thing goes for those gun buys police department do. Melting the guns down, its a shame.
