Any sports car people?

#1

Post by gigag04 »

I have a 350Z Enthusiast 6MT that has had some things added to it. Just curious if there are any other fellow sport compact/muscle car people on the board.

I love my car for sure, but the new SS Camaros are SIIIIIIIICK. I sat in one at the rodeo and fell in love. It was an auto, but it had paddle shifters which was redeemable. Also, IIRC two of the top three 0-60 and 0-100-0 times are with autos....?

IMO, both of these are segways to when I break down and get a vette. (C6 Z06 pls...thank you).

My wife will be in the market for a new car later this year. She has been hinting around that she lkies the idea of getting ,gulp, a Corvette. Right now she drives an SI Civic with a few mods and it hauls but it is a HUGE step up to a 500hp vette. She has always had fast cars, SI, Supercharged Grand Am, so I am not worried about how she can handle it, more worried about me taking it out while she aint lookin ;-) Since I have the habit of keeping trucks til the wheels fall off (my last one had 280k and the bell housing literally exploded while I was doing about 60) we don't have a car noteright now so financially it won't be too harsh. I kinda like the idea of saying "Oh the 'vette, its the wife's". I just hope she doesn't test drive a Z06, cause there aint no turning back. After all, its either a Corvette or an SUV :grumble

I used to have a Fiat Spyder 2000. Fun little car.

I sat in a 370Z a couple day ago and didn't like it. I have not been in a new Camaro yet, but like the looks. I'm not a Dodge person, but also like the Charger and Challenger. Been  over Corvettes for decades. Isn't there a new Z1 that runs around $103k?

I currently ride a Hayabusa, but don't get as crazy as I used to.

I burn up the mean streets of my commute in a 2006 Ford Focus. My wife however has a '65 Mustang and had a '68 until it she flipped it after some not-very-nice person ran her off the road.

:hurry: Huge sports car fan here!! (Nice ride, AEA ;-) )

2006 Ford Mustang GT, no major modifications yet. We were just about ready to start when we got interested in guns. Now the pony is patiently waiting.

Nice stangs! My wife has an '03 GT vert, BBK cold air intake, MAC flow path exhaust, Steeda underdrive pullies. We haven't taken it to the dyno so I have no clue what the HP is, but I'd love to find out and get a nice tune.

2006 Chrysler 300C SRT. Very minor mods so far - grille, CAI, predator tuner. Having a CHL has made me less interested in go-fast.

Hmm - just reviewed this picture and remembered my custom emblem on the front grille...

Thanks! Your pony looks nice too, now get some muscle into her! :cheers2:

I understand the problem with buying guns instead of go-fast. I mostly drive my Ranger EDGE P/U now days, but the Bullitt is primed and ready in the garage for the nice days when I feel like a rush! :eek6

Probably not your idea of a sports car, but an 82 BMW that puts out about 120HP. Front and rear sway bars, bilstein sports w/ eibach springs, LSD, AC delete, battery relocated to trunk, engine-driven fan removed and replaced with electric, converted to EFI and electronic programmable ignition (EDIS/megasquirt). Currently working on an engine build.

Some of you folks with sporty cars (and time, and money) might be interested in the Robin Hood Rally. Starting in May, they will race on 10 (closed) public roads in 10 different states, and the roads won't be known in advance (to eliminate scouting the course). It starts in New Hampshire and ends in Louisiana.
