The good people of Texas of course! And the Hill Country, Texas Wine, Austin and its weirdness, Garner State Park, Tubing the Comal, The Food, The climate diversity (desert, piney woods, -20 degrees to 115+ degrees, snow and hurricanes), and I could go on!

The Piney woods
Zilker Park's pool
The glass bottom boats at Aquarina Springs (sure do miss the pig, though!)
The bluffs of the Chisos
Schlitterbahn
So many musical and arts and museum venues that I couldn't name them all
Not being chastised for saying sir or ma'am
The farmland
The Texas show at Palo Duro canyon
The history

I think one of my favorite adopted Texans said it best in song. " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I love that you can wander into the smallest little town and still find people who are sophisticated about world affairs and what is happening outside their county. (You don't see that in a lot of other places.)
I've got to get ready for church, so I'll have to complete my list later....

I love so many things about Texas that it would take the rest of my life to make a list.
To put it in a nutshell... Texas is home.
I grew up here. I was in the USAF for 22 years. I've been all over Europe & visited a few other countries. I lived in Germany & Greece. I've been to almost all 50 US states. My heart & mind were never far from Texas.
A year or so ago, I was working in New York. One of the people I was working with said, "You don't really like it here, do you?" I had to admit he was right. When he wanted to know why, I told him there were too many people. He couldn't understand, so I explained that my morning commute starts off, "I drive 500 yards down the driveway, turn left and go another 500 yards to pavement." I had to pull up Google Earth & show them. They didn't think anyone really lived in such a place.
That's it... home.

Texas = Tejas = Friendly. More than just a saying.
Don't have to shovel winter weather.
It's Home. There is no place like home.
I know some folk think its ugly or at best plain. The salt marshes are beautiful to me, and the birds that live there are wondrous.
Work. Good jobs and an economy thats better than most places.. Wages are good, Cost of living is reasonable.
The heartland of American Libertarianism.
Someone said West Texas Sunsets... Galveston sunrises to greet me in the morning, give a day a great start.
Road system,,, While some roads seem under contruction all the time. As a whole Texas roads are the best in the country.
