Need a Novelty Gift - Gas Handle

My little sister is 16 and just started driving back in June.

A couple of weeks ago she failed to yeild right-of-way and T-Boned another car.

Today, my Father was driving my Mothers car and it died. Engine was skipping and running terribly, and then it wouldn't even start. My dad calls my sister and has this conversation....

D: Did you fill the car up with Diesel?
S: I don't know
D: What do you mean you don't know?
D: Was the handle green?
S: Yea, you know what, I think it was.
D: How did you even use that, those handles are to big to fit into the gas tank?
S: Oh yea, it didn't! I had to kind of trickle the gas in there, it took forever.

I didn't want to give her to much grief over the accident, but this last shenanigan can not simply go off into that good night.

So my question to you good people.... Where can I buy an old gas handle with a couple feet of hose attached? Will any convenience store sell me a spare, how much are they?

How about putting one of these on her gas door?

I have one on my truck, but it DOES have diesel inside.

On a motorcycle ride in Okla.,one of our riders AND HIS SON filled their tanks with Diesel. The Dad was a commertial airline pilot.
It's a good thing he flew the airplanes and not re-fuel them.

northern tool sells gas handles. The real kind that you would use to fill up a tractor/heavy equipment with from a tank. Never paid attention to the price though...

I would think a sticker "NOT THE GREEN HANDLE" placed near the filler would be appropriate.

One thing you need to be aware of though... a green handle means nothing. I have used plenty of diesel nozzles that weren't green and I've filled plenty of rental cars with gas from pumps with green handles.

BP is one brand that comes to mind. They typically have green handles on all the pumps.

I had a female friend who drove off with the nozzle still in her car. The hose detached and she had to carry it in to the attendant. Hehe, I still give her grief over it sometimes. "rlol"

Install and maintain gas pumps is big business. Alot like plumbing, some local guy always has the contract. Next time you buy gas just ask who works on their pumps, look them up, I bet they have extras for sale.

I actually did that once. It's a kind of expensive mistake to make.
