Are you concerned for the future of US?

Yep, looking at the history, US is going like a dying British Empire to much debt too much spending. China is the next super power no one is really interested in doing a thing to change what is happening. US is like an old cow who is being probed into the slaughtering lane.

In a word, YES. Too many voters milking too many agencies/bureaucracies for benefits they (the voter/beneficiary) are not paying for. We can only expect them to vote in their own interest, which at this point is clearly not in the best interest of the country. It is all too likely that the US will fall due to the weight of the debt that its own citizens mandate. I still hope all is not lost, but all the signs I have seen lately don't bode well.

Concerned? Certainly....though I think that's just the way it is supposed to go....for I am not really worried. See the last line in my signature as to why.

Am I worried about the US? yes, the government is spending to much and the people just keep asking for more not thinking that they are connected. Do I think China will become the next hegemon? No, they have some pretty big issues they need to work out before they can think of overtaking the US as the hegemon. As it is I think the US can get things straightened out it but it will take some time, we have realized there is a problem and thats the first step.

Anyone who isn't concerned isn't paying attention.

Of course I am concerned for us. You'd have to be living in a cave to not be. And our family pays far too many taxes to not pay attention! Rome did not fall though in one generation or even two, so there might still be some hope for us. As far as China goes--well our debt problems are bad, but China's from what I understand are worse. We have problems in our social benefit programs, but ours are miniscule when looking at china's. We have a nice bump of baby boomers, and then a smaller population to support it. China has that in spades (of it's own making which is even worse). We are having drought problems in the lower US, China is having cities being eaten by the desert. So China has it's own woes to deal with. Not that they are not a concern, just they are not the only concern.

I got very concerned during Bush's second term. I didn't support Obama but when he was elected, I thought maybe he would reverse some of Bush's worst policies. Not because it was the right thing to do but because they were Bush's policies. No such luck. Obama has continued Bush's failed economic policy, Bush's failed foreign and military policies, Bush's failed immigration policy, and Bush's failed unPATRIOTic policy. I'm no longer worried if there will be a total economic collapse and/or open revolution, but rather when, and which comes first. Having a bug out plan is more important than it has ever been. Preferably at least 100 miles from any US city with a population over 100,000.
There is an old saying, "In the course of a long life a wise man will be prepared to abandon his baggage several times."

I'm concerned that our "leaders" do not have the fortitude to do what is necessary because it is politically unpopular. Because of that, our country suffers.
As an aside, I have abandoned the idea of 'bugging out'. If even one percent of people get the same idea to bug out to some remote location, you and four million other people will be competing for the same scarce resources. I'm not advocating being in a city. I'm just saying that I personally do not think bugging out to the countryside will accomplish anything because too many other people have the same idea, which defeats the purpose of doing so.

Yes, lots and lots of ammo.
And if you are not worried about this country then either you are a brainwashed statist or have not been paying attention. If you think things are looking good, then you are a brainwashed statist.
