I don't think I've ever laughed that hard at 4:30am. Thanks for posting.
ETA: my wife may kill me for waking her up with my laughter. On the bright side with the insurance money she could buy the TV.

I'm going to hold out for the price to drop a little more.

In the reviews a guy posted from the future (2015) that the TV had dropped to only $699.

See how much I saved by not being an early adopter.

Can't let my wife see that, she already wants a 70 inch TV.

An excerpt: this review of this shockingly expensive product made me laugh out loud:
My wife and I bought this after selling our daughter Amanda into white slavery. . . . .
I just wanted to add an addendum to my review. Since posting it, we have received a flood of responses. People have said some pretty hurtful things . . . .
.... P.S., as for our daughter, NO ONE has the right to question our parenting. Totally out of bounds. Amanda was going into 7th grade, so it was going to be a transitional year anyway. Now she gets to see the world. How many kids her age get to go to Bahrain? I sure as heck didn't, but you don't hear me screaming "child abuse." Bottom line: MYOB! Seriously.

Some people take themselves too seriously. Those folks need to lighten up some.
I was thinking, wow, some people pay more for a stinking tv than I want to pay for my kids college education. Come to think of it, I could buy the tv and save some money. Son, you are on your own.

That's what I'm talking about. $30k might get my son a couple semesters at Notre Dame. This TV would last at least 3 years before it breaks or gives me cancer in some bad place. I think I'll take my chances with the tv.

Just hand them your wad of cash and tell them to peel off what they need.
