While attending school at Great Lakes used use our room coffee pot to heat cans of soup for lunch.... set the timer for an hour before class lets out.... get back to to room and hot soup... better than the chow hall :lol:

Cut some mesquite to make 1911 grips and not wanting to wait 2 years for it to cure came up with another plan. With the wife gone from the house planed the wood down to grip blanks and stuck these in the microwave several times to dry them. Worked extremely well until she came home and read me the riot act. However nearly 40 years later I still have a beautiful set of grips on the 1911 and the wife. alls well that ends well.
