Apparently there is an active shooter situation going on at a school in Troutdale Oregon. No details yet:

They're far too dangerous.

Latest report is that one student and the shooter are dead. Since the shooter is probably a student, it is unclear if this means two deaths, or just one.

OK, more details. A teenaged student brings a gun on campus and confronts another teenaged student....I think they said in the gym....where he shot and killed the 2nd student. The first student's dead body was found later in a bathroom, with a self-inflicted GSW. So...... one dead victim, and one dead idiot with a gun. Apparently, no other shots fired.

Metal detectors were unnecessary because the federal GFZ law protects all the children.

Not quite the rampage I feared. Sounds like interpersonal conflict taken to a lethal level. Tragic to be sure, but harder to spin.

FOX TV News just reported that the school had TWO (2) Uniformed Police Officers assigned to campus.

Shep Smith is stressing this is the "74th school shooting since Newtown". I don't like him.

Newsflash to Shep. Teens will do violence to other teens. Unless you are willing to take away all scissors, pencil, compasses, etc you are going to have violence. When I was in school one student slashed another student to ribbons five feet from me. That was middle school! In a nation this big, and with as many unparented teens as there are, I am surprised there were not more attacks.

Probably where Shep got his info. I don't think there have been that many school shootings since Newtown but it does play well in their story.
