My letter to President Obama, Secretary of Defense Hagel, and General Dempsey — it looks like you don’t give a damn when we don’t hear from you on this!
Dear Gentleman,
We are approaching the 7 month mark since Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi inadvertently made a wrong turn and ended up in Mexico. Yes, he had guns in his truck – legal in the USA, but not legal in Mexico. I have been told by a Mexican lawyer that the Mexican law requires that someone INTEND to bring guns into Mexico. In other words, if his entry into Mexico was accidental or inadvertent, he lacked the requisite intent to violate the law. Thus, he is not guilty.

I have seen zero effort by any of you to help Sgt. Tahmooressi. And worse, I have seen plenty of opportunity for you to help. Your failure to seize the opportunity sends the message that you don’t give a damn [that's not the word she used]. That is a really bad message. If you tried, and you failed, at least the thinking would be that you ‘have their backs’ — doing nothing suggests you don’t care.

You can make mad some of the people some of the time.
But you can't make all the people mad, all of the time and stay in office.
This president is trying, interesting what will happen Election Day.
I was wrong about the 2012 election, make sure I am not wrong again.

I'd venture a wild guess that the Sgt's release could easily happen if the USA would compromise various trade/oil importation/taxation/immigration agreements with the benelovent state of Mexico.
I'd also suggest that in other countries there are other, mostly ignored, USA citizens who are political MIA/POWs waiting to be ransomed out of captivity.

He was released Friday and returned to Florida Saterday.

Who knows the scoop here? After 7 months, Greta writes a letter on Tuesday, and he is released on Friday? Sheer coincidence?
Surely "Late is better than Never" but I hope this long stint being ignored in a Mexican prison hasn't further destabilized this troubled person.

Here's another "coincidence", individual health insurance rates aren't being released until Nov.5, the day after the election.
