That was fascinating, thanks for the link. I don't think I've seen more than one or two photos of the Arizona as she was before the attack on Pearl Harbor.

In addition to the ship itself, it was interesting to see the other elements of the era in which it was built. Heavy wooden timbers for scaffolding. Bowlers in the winter, boaters in the summer - on every man.

Just about the same time the Arizona was being built, (in fact 100 years ago today 25 Jan 15), the first transcontinental telephone call was made: http://www.computerworld.com/article/28 ... story.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

America was building stuff.
